Family Glimmer Chip Album
Hi there! This is Susan.
All this month, the designers will be showing off the wonderful My Tattered Angels Glimmer Kits. I got to play with the Family-themed Chip Tile kit, which is just perfect for me, as I’ve always wanted to make an album for our family photographs taken on our vacations through the years.
The kit comes with glimmer chips, glimmer glass, bingo boards, a glimmer screen, three mini bottles of glimmer mist in Sand, Patina and Scarlet, and all other accessories you would need to create an album, including tulle, ribbons, a copper key and lots more.
Here’s my album cover:

I misted Sand glimmer mist all over the cover chip tile, then highlighted the gorgeous embossed details with some ink. The album title was cut from a Bingo Board, then mounted on some corrugated cardboard which also came with the kit.

I made a flower embellishment using some music sheets I had at home, spraying it with Patina for a lovely blue hue. The leaves were handcut from the corrugated cardboard and sprayed lightly with Scarlet glimmer mist for some shimmer and colour.

To jazz up the album, I tied the chocolate tulle that came with the kit around one of the album rings, then attached the copper key to the tulle using the swirly ivory ribbon.
On to the inside pages.

I’ve left the pages on the right side of the album plain to allow me to add journalling later. One great thing about this album is because it is held together by rings, I can add pages to it in the future, by using the rest of the chip tiles and bingo boards from the kit.
As I was making the album, I decided I wanted to use the chip tiles differently. This time, I made a hanging decor.

I wanted to try a different method of misting the chip, so I experimented with a wax resist technique. First, I applied wax to the embossed images on the cream tile. Next, I sprayed Scarlet glimmer mist liberally all over the chip tile. Then I carefully wiped off the mist from the embossed images and voila! The images showed through clearly in cream.

Once the chip tile was dry, I added a bingo board and corrugated cardboard, both lightly misted in Sand, some tulle, ribbon, button, glimmer glass and a little lace misted in Sand. I punched two holes at the top of the chip tile, threaded some tulle through and my hanging photo decor was complete.
I have to say I really enjoyed making my glimmer chip album and decor. I have even more ideas brewing in my mind. These kits are addictive!
Have a great day!
Susan
