Heading into summer….

With Spring on it’s way out and Summer right around the corner I felt inspired to create a fun little project to kick off the season! I found this little patio lantern at Michael’s for $1.50 so I thought I would pick one up to experiment with it before creating enough to decorate my patio this summer!
I love how easily the paper lantern took the Glimmer Mist but I couldn’t stop there! I had to pull out my “Regal” Glimmer Alphas as well as the butterflies from the “Nature” Glimmer Font. I gave them all a healthy dose of Glimmer Mists in the Cosmos, Flower Power, Sweet Clover and Lemon Grass colours. Once dry, I attached them to the fresh and fun MLS (My Little Shoebox) papers, trimmed the excess and then backed them with another frame so both side show off the lovely decorated frame. I also made sure to secure a tab of ribbon so it could be slid onto the skewer when I was ready.

I also had some desire to break out the brand new Chalkboard Glimmer Mists. OH YEAH! You heard me right:) I have been waiting for just the right occasion to go to town with these and after being inspired by many of the altered Prima Camera Bags awhile back, I couldn’t resist doing one for myself!

I used the Peacock, Apricot and Strawberry Shortcake colours to spray my little bag. What I loved best, I found these to give a more true to life colour on the canvas that what I have experienced with the Glimmer Mists. Perhaps it is because they are opaque. Totally cool! And there is a nice shimmer too… doesn’t get better than that! The green button was actually done with Glimmmer Glaze:)

I wrapped Prima VOILA felt trim around the bag (it stuck to the damp bag with ease!!!)… I had no patience to wait…lol!
And then the final touch… a beautiful Prima FLower spritzed with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist attached to the pocket and a lovely Prima pearl swirl that I actually altered with Glimmer Glaze (Green) and Glimmer Glam (blue). So simple yet so very pretty (or at least I think so anyways!)
Now, these next few images are sneak peeks from an article that I recently wrote for the Summer issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. Because it has just hit the shelves… I will only show you a sneak peek for now but know that there were a lot of fun tips for working with Tattered Angels newest mediums, Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze.

Anyways, another cool place to try the Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze are the new Heidi Swapp shapes (the chipboard roses). They are treated with a resist so when you add the Glimmer Glam or Glaze and wipe off the excess you are left with a beautiful image!

Here is a close up of the Glimmer Glam (red frame- notice the little “chunks”… that is actually the glitter in the Glam giving it a nice addition of texture and sparkle!). The Green on the Riff Raff Designs Chipboard word “BLISS” wa enhanced by the addition of self adhesive My Mind’s Eye bling.

Again, another close up of the painted Prima pearl swirls… so pretty! All the flowers on this layout got a bit of Glimmer Mist too giving it just the right amount of shine:)
Another layout is this one featuring the Proper Glentleman Collection from My Mind’s Eye.
Here Glimmer Glam was used on the Riff Raff Designs Tree. The letters were sprayed with Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist (do you notice how they match?…Many of the colours compliment existing colours. Cool, eh?!)

On the pocket watch frame, 2 colours were combined to give even more added depth and dimension.
Last but certainly not least… This little Chip Tile. I coloured the Prima Flowers with Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze. The Bingo card was spray and cut down to size to work with this project. The actual tile has 2 colours of glimmer Glam painted on with a fine brush so I could try to get some detail:)
So there you have it! Be sure to check out the Educators blog too for more tips and tricks. I personally cannot find my password (oooops!) which is why you have such a long winded post here. Hopefully you do not mind me sharing some tips and tricks though! I loved sharing them with you and look forward to sharing many more in future blog posts and classes. With all of these fun new mediums finally hitting the store shelves you just know there is gonna be a whole lot of misting going on!!! And I don’t think there will be one single complaint;)
Happy Scrapping!

Sharing some Tattered Angels Holiday goodness:)
Ahhhhhhhhhh…. so nice to be back! Not that I really left but now I can officially say how happy and honoured I am to have been invited by Tattered Angels to be one of the Golden Ambassadors! I guess that means I am officially a Glimmer Mist Addict and I am totally okay with that! Not only do I get to continue to share some Tattered Angels Goodness with my students as an Educator, I get to rejoin this uber talented team and share some more goodness with you here too…WOW! What a thrill!
So without further adieu, here we go!!!
With the holidays fast approaching I thought I would share some quick tags that you can create using your favourite Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, screens, stamps, Glimmer Chips and brand new Calling Cards.
I know that the free minutes between now and the big day are virtually non existent but I am hoping you can find at least a couple to try your hand at these quick and simple tags.

This first one was done by first stamping the fleurish stamp randomly over a regular tag. Spray with Olive Vine and Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mists and blot off excess. Apply a die cut felt tree (this one is by Prima) and embellish with self adhesive rhinestones. Tie some ribbon through the tag hole and cover knot with a large decorative crystal and VOILA! A very quick and simple tag is finished:)

Tag #2 was also stamped but sprayed with Caramel Apple Glimmer Mist. Attach a torn strip of paper (Graphic 45) and staple on some decorative trim and twine. Glimmer Mist and ink a pocket watch, secure a seasonal image to the backside and glue to front of the tag. Age some lace with! Glimmer Mist and attach that to the watch as well. And guess what… you are finished

Tag 3: Glimmer Mist the tag using Glimmer Screens as well so you can provide a bit of a contrast and pattern to the background. Spray and embossed Glimmer Chip (small oval frame from Regal collection). Secure vintage image to backside and attach to the front f the tag. Attach cut out images and quote, embellish with misted lace and again… you are FINISHED!
Those were easy, eh? Now onto a couple more that although involved a few more minutes, the end result is pretty superb!

This particular tag is a giant tag (about 4″X8″) so I had more room to play with. I stamped and sprayed the background and the crumpled the tag and dipped it in the remaining Glimmer Mist on my mat so it collected in the crevices. I also stamped and sprayed a mini file folder (7 gypsies) and sprayed my Glimmer Alphas. Once they were dry, I added some ink and secured them over a decorative paper trim.

I have always loved the large embossed fleurish in the Regal Collection but this time I wanted a more defined pattern with the embossing so I ren it through the cuttlebug on a whim and look close and you will see the definition. I LOVED it! I added a bit of ink to further define the new embossed pattern and secured it to my tag with mini pop dots. I layers the file folder with a mini Calling Card and lovely fabric flower that was lightly misted too. I added some distressed lace and velvet ribbon and now can call this one finished too!

The final tag for you today involves another giant tag that was stamped and misted. I layered various Graphic 45 papers and even cut the Santa image in the frame from a sheet of paper too.

I cut many of the postage stamp images and layered them with the medium sized calling card. I finished it off with the “Merry Christmas” that was cut out from a patterned paper too. The entire piece was “wiped” with Glimmer Mist to further distress the tag.
So there you have it, 5 tags… just for YOU! Be sure to take some time this holiday season and make some time for you:) Take lots of photos, and remember the reason for the season. Don’t fret over the small things and cherish every single moment with you family! OH! And don’t forget to get all of your favourite goodies on your wish list for Santa before it is too late!
Happy Holidays!

Loving the summer releases!
All of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists are pretty spectacular but can I tell you how I excited I was when I opened by box of design goodies prior to CHA to find black (”Cinder”) and white (”Marshmallow”) Glimmer Mists?! Oh yes… it is true… and they are aooooooooo FABULOUS to work with!!!!

Using the new Chip TIles, I created this fun little notebook. The 4X7 tiles are perfect to alter using Glimmer Mist and whatever else suits your fancy.

I have a sweet spot for the fleur de lis pattern in this Chip Tile so I decided to use it for my cover. After spraying with Creme de Rouge Glimmer Mist, I used a Gun Metal rub to enhance the intricate pattern.
As I mentioned, I LOVE the “Cinder” Glimmer Mist. When sprayed on the Glimmer Chips or Glimmer Alphas (as shown above), it is a TRUE black. Saturate the piece and let it soak in and the results are GREAT! I also added some Glossy Accents to the letters here to really make the letters pop. On the Fleur di Lis Glimmer Chip, I added the Cinder Glimmer Mist and then Crackle Accents. When it dries, it cracks… totally cool effect!

On the back cover of the book, I used Cinder Glimmer Mist over the entire piece. I used a White Staz-On ink pad to highlight the embossed portions (beware… your Staz On pad MAY pick up the colour and Glimmer from the Cinder so do so ONLY at your own risk:). I also used the White Staz-On (minimal amount on the stamp)with the new Garden- Notes Stamps.
I cannot show you the inside pages as this will run as a class this fall but know they are just as fun as the covers!). I should also mention that the Bind-It-All pinched through the chip Tiles beautifully allowing yo a plethora of options for creating your own little book:)

Now it is time to experiment with the Marshmallow (white) Glimmer Mist. This time I used a heavy weight piece of black chipboard that had been cut with a die cut machine for my background. First, I laid out my Garden`Note Glimmer Screen (this beauty is HUGE! It easily covered thebottom half of my project allowing for ease in the spritzing department).

A light mist is all that was necessary to create this lovely design on the background.

I used the co-ordinating stamps from the Garden-Notes Collection to stamp with white Staz-on in the opposite corner. Aside from inking the edges, I left the Bingo and Calling Cards in their natural state. The Glimmer Chips from the Regal Collection (shown in the above photo) were also only inked to highlight the raised portions. I then carefully traced the pattern with Glossy Accents and it turned out pretty cool!
On the fleurish, I sprayed with the Cinder Glimmer Mist, applied Glossy Accents and then randomly sprinkled some black glitter.
The Glimmer Alphas (shown in the above pic) were inked first and then had Glossy Accents and some glitter again for another look. I love the versatility of the Tattered Angels Embossed Chipboard Elements as their are so many options for customizing them to suit your needs!
The last little picture I will leave you with today is a sneak peek from a FUN class I am going to be teaching using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Chips and Screens to complete this lovely canvas wall hanging! So many fun techniques will be covered in this class and others like it! Tattered Angels has designers and educators around the globe able to share classes with you. My projects shown here will be offered this fall and I would love to see you in my upcoming classes! For a list of dates and locations… see our Educator Calander on here:) Visit my blog for more info on my Tattered Angels Classes!

Gotta keep it coming…
With CHA fast approaching, we know you all are checking blogs continually to catch some peeks of some eye candy! There is lots of inspiration to be found, especially if you scroll through some of these recent posts! So as you well know by now, Tattered Angels has teamed up with Graphic 45 this month and we designers on both teams have worked hard to create some projects using the products from both companies! They compliment one another so well… this was not a tough thing to do! In fact over the past several months I have used both companies in MANY of my classes all over!
Here is one of the pics of the Layout I did for this challenge:

This uses the Fashionista collection of Graphic 45 Papers and Tags and the Tattered Angels Embossed Glimmer Chips (Regal), Glimmer Alphas and the new BINGO cards. I have a lot of fun playing with these goodies and I hope you enjoyed them! For some additional projects using the goodies from both of these companies… check out my blog at www.trishaladouceur.blogspot.com (I accidentally did an at length post there thinking that was where I was supposed to share the TA and G45 love!) OOOPS!
Also, be sure to leave a comment here for your chance to win some cool prizes! Also, check out the Graphic 45 blog too for even more inspiration!

Glimmer Kits…
To make the most of your time, Tattered Angels has designed several different Glimmer Kits that are of various themes complete with and album, Glimmer Mists and a screen and embellishments that all co0rdinate. This allows you the freedom to play with the contents in the Glimmer Kits without the stress associated with designing in wondering if the end project will “work”. Although there are BASIC instructions included in the kit, you are free to add your own personal take on the goodies in the box too, as I did below! Check it out…

The album above is made from the contents of the BOY Glimmer Kit. It has 3 masculine colours of Glimmer Mist, “Nature” Glimmer Glass, cool papers and plenty of embellishents to accentuate this keepsake album!

The FROSTY kit is full of FROSTY Glimmer Chips, beautiful Glimmer Mist a snowflake Screen and again… oodles of embellishments! Sooooo coooooool!

And then, when you are all finished with your Glimmer Kits, you can pull off another project without too much work at all! I used the box that the Glimmer Kit was packed in to create this adorable Keepsake box. I sprayed the box lightly areound all edges, covered the surfaces with Graphic 45 papers and embellished with Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips, Glimmer Glass and Glimmer Alphas! What a great keepsake all on it’s own, let alone whatever treasures you tuck away within!

Don’t for get to leave a comment for your chance to win this week!
Thanks for looking and HAPPY SCRAPPING!

Naturally Masculine too:)

We all know Glimmer Mist can be the perfect accessory when working with feminine projects… after all, what girl does not appreciate a little bit of bling and sparkly things?! Well, myself being a gal who loves all things shimmer and having 2 boys and a husband, I have had to learn to work Glimmer Mist into my masculine projects. This is one of those projects and if I do say so myself… I think it turned out pretty cool! Let’s take a closer look shall we….

So here are the details behind the photos that inspired this project. This past weekend, my husband took our two sons fishing and surprisingly, he even thought to bring the camera so he could get a few shots for me as he knew I needed some fresh pics for various projects (thanks again Drew!). Well, when I saw them, I knew they would work perfectly for the project I had in mind featuring the brand new Chip Tiles. I happen to think they are way too cool to hide in an scrapbook so I concocted this funky wall hanging.

There are lots of fun things I did on this project but I can’t give all the tricks away… nope! This is going to be one of my upcoming classes this fall but I could not bare to keep it all a secret! It will be on display in the Tattered Angels Booth at CHA for those of you there but in the meantime… I will share some of my fave tips and tricks on this project:)
One of the things I love to do with the Glimmer Chips and Glimmer Glass is I love to curl the wings on the dragonflies and butterflies in the nature sets.

Tying the chip tiles together with Jute lent to the rustic appearance of this wall hanging. Did you know a Crop-A-dile will punch holes through the ChipTiles with ease?! YUP! Give it a try:)

After applying Crackle Accents to the Tattered Angels letters, I sprinkled them with this cool new (well, new to me anyways) medium that adds a natural element to this project.
Enjoy playing with all the new Glimmer Mist colors this fall as I have here and know that you will not be disappointed with all of the fabulous new products hitting stores near you in the very near future!
Also, just a quick note to remind you that Tattered Angels has Designers and Endorsed Educators more than willing to come and share projects like this at your store or event! For more information, contact Liz @ liz@mytatteredangels.com

A bit of eye candy to kick start your weekend…
Hi all… Trisha here with a little project to share:)
First, I will ask to you to forgive my photos that have not been edited… my computer is giving me extreme grief so I am stuck with these pics for now:)
So here is the story behind this project (incase you are interested)… recently I had the privilege of teaching aboard an Alaskan Cruise as a part of the Northridge Media team in which Tattered Angels was one of our very generous class sponsors for the lucky participants:) While we were in port in Victoria, BC, my dear friend, Trena, whom I have known since 7th grade came to pick us up and took us out for a night on the town. Even though we have been friends for more than 25 years (EEEEK!), we have very few photos together, certainly nothing that either one of us would want out in public at this point…lol! Anyways, we did manage to have this photo taken of us that evening and I treasure it dearly so it seemed only fitting to create a keepsake highlighting it:) Enter Tattered Angels… no other goodies in the scrapbook world compliment this project better in my humble opinion:)
So what did I do? Well, I started with a white piece of chipboard that had been run through the AccuCut machine to give me this wonderful scalloped circle to form my base. I often like to use chipboard for the base as it allows me to spray multiple layers of Glimmer Mist without warping the paper too much. The chipboard with the white sided chipboard works best as it does not alter the end colour of the Glimmer Mist.

I sprayed a base coat of Wheatfields Glimmer Mist, laid down a few of the Glimmer Screens from the Designer Series and then layered on the colours until I achieved a result I was happy with. Although it is difficult to see in these pics, there is a nice combination of Sand, Suede ,Harvest Orange and a touch of Patina. I used the same colours on my Tattered Angels Alphabets (note that I used the positive and negative parts:) I was going for a distressed look with them so I actually dipped my fingertips into some of the excess Glimmer Mist on my mat and spread it sloppily on the letters:)

I added some colour to the Tattered Angels Glimmer Chip photo corner too and then applied ink to the raised portions, highlighting thwe pattern. This was also done to the letters but more care was put into the “G” so some of the finer details were enhanced:)
I distressed the Graphic 45 papers by crumpling, sanding, inking and giving a light spritz of Glimmer Mist. The Prima flowers and lace were also altered with Glimmer Mist… tying the entire project together. Even though none of the products were designed to work together, by using Glimmer Mist on all components they all ended up complimenting each other very well!!!
So the next time you are playing in your scrap space and find that you do not have matching papers and embellishments, break out that Glimmer Mist and see what YOU can do to make it work! I think you will be seriously impressed with what you can come up with!
Also, try using chipboard as your base OR adhere your patterned paper to Chipboard BEFORE spraying to alleviate that excessive warping that can occur. Another option… be like be and embrace the lumps and bumps…. YUP! I quite often like to work the so called imperfections in the shape of the paper into my project. While it is moist with Glimmer Mist, bend, curl and crumple to add a nice bit of texture that you are sure to like. If you don’t and it really bothers you… break out the iron! YUP! You heard me… use your good old fashioned iron and carefully iron from the backside of the paper and that should help to smooth it out too:)
I hope you found these tips helpful:) Be sure to check back often as it is our goal as a team to constantly inspire you and give you plenty of tips and tricks. AND we are also on FAcebook and would love to see you in our group there… join us for some fun by simply searching for Tattered Angels, join the group and chime in. We would also LOVE to see your creations there too so be sure to post photos for us all to see:)
One last hing before I run… be sure to check outour educational calendar to see where a Tattered Angels class will be happening near you. There are a bunch of Tattered Angels Endorsed Educators around the world anxious to share some fun projects with you and in the near future, the calendar will be full of dates and classes near and far to choose from!
Happy Scrapping everyone and have a FAB weekend!
Some inspiration to kick start your weekend…
I recently had the privilege of teaching aboard Crop and Cruise, of which Tattered Angels generously sponsored my Technique Treasure class. Participants had the opportunity to learn some FABULOUS tips and tricks for using Glimmer Mist. Well, using some of those tips and tricks and the beautiful new screens and stamps, I created this layout to showcase a couple of photos from that trip:) It was a very quick and simple scrapbook pages that were fun to create!
I also created this greeting card for my husbands 40th birthday that I thought would be great to share with you today too. Especially seeing as March is nearly over and we designers here at Tattered Angels had a great time working alongside Crafty Secrets and using their products in conjunction with Tattered Angels. This card was created by using the iron gate screen on a coaster and spritzing it with Graphite Glimmer Mist. The vintage image is from Crafty Secrets Journalling notes and images booklet and worked great on the front of this card. I added a touch of lace, some black crystals and a flower and VOILA… a quick and simple card full of charm sure to make your special loved one smile… it did mine!
Have a great weekend and happy crafting:)

As the Holidays approach…
and the hustle and bustle of the season takes over the next few weeks, it is a good thing to feed your creative juices once in a while along the way. I consider my play time with all my Tattered Angels goodies to be very relaxing. It can be sooooo much fun to immerse yourself in Glimmer Mist and see what kind of creations come about.
The biggest thing I like to point out to all of my students is that they do not have to be complicated projects to get stunning effects!!!!! A little goes a long way and one should never be afraid to experiment!
Try your hand at a VERY simple card, perfect for any occasion (not just the holidays!). This particular card was done using the Fleur de Lis Glimmer Screen, a Fleur de Lis Glimmer Chip (Embossed Regal Collection) and 2 small corners (Embossed Regal Collection) and one of my all time favourite Glimmer Mist colours… OLIVE VINE!!!
To start, I lightly brushed my Dark Olive Cateye Ink pad across the surface (this will highlight some of the beautiful details on each of the pieces) of each of the embossed Glimmer Chips and then sprayed them with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist. I also lightly misted a Prima Flower to co-ordinate with my colour pallete for this card.
While that was set aside to dry, I got to work on the backgound of my card. I simply positioned my Glimmer Screen on the front of my card and sprayed the Olive Vine Glimmer Mist over the surface. Keep in mind that you do NOT want to overspray. If your apply too much Glimmer Mist, it can seep beneath the screen giving a less than perfect image. Remember, you are better off to start out slowly and gradually add more colour as needed rather than apply too much as that is hard to reverse. Keep in mind that when spraying onto cardstock that there is also a possibility that it may “buckle” so again, less is more. I quite often recommend to place it under a heavy surface to flatten out. You can also “roll” the paper in the opposite direction to help to flatten it again. If you feel so inclined, break out your iron and it will be just about as flat as one can get it. Sometimes though, the warpage can give your project character… so do what is best for YOU!
At this point, the Glimmer Mist on your Chips and flowers should be dry. If it is not, feel free to use your heat gun to speed up the process. I wanted to add a bit of contrast to highlight some of the embossing on the Glimmer Chips so I used a Chestnut Roan Cateye Ink Pad and lightly rubbed it on the raised portions. Notice that I did not rub it ober the entire surface… only parts. I also went around the edges in places as well as distresses the edges on the card with this same ink pad to tie it all together.
It was then time to assemble the card! This is made extremely easy because the Glimmer Chips are self adhesive so all I had to do was Peel and Stick! Before I attached the fleur de Lis though, I tied a small piece of sheer green ribbon around the center in a co-ordinating green colour and then secured it into position. Did you notice that the sillhouette of the Fleur de Lis from the Glimmer Screen is a near PERFECT match for the chipboard embellishment that is placed within! YUP! I LOVE that!!!! Finish it off with the flower with a button center and VOILA!!! Very simple card in less than 10 minutes!!!!!
You can always change it up using a combination of multiple colours of Glimmer Mist or try some of the other patterns of screens and embellishments to suit your fancy! For a great gift idea, do up a few different cards that are generic in theme and perhaps even a few co-ordinationg envelopes, alter a beautiful box, wrap with a pretty bow, and you are sure to have a very happy recipient:)
If you are one of those people who is already prepared for the holidays and you have a lot of free time on your hands right now, consider a project similar to this…
Here is a Christmas Countdown Wall Hanging I created for this holiday season.
It features My Mind’s Eye Papers that were sprayed lightly with an assortment of Glimmer Mists. I also altered the flowers and felt letters so that everything had a hint of shimmer:)
You may have noticed that the different types of chipboard that you spray all differ in their finished effect when using Glimmer Mist. On the branch with the birdies(Riff Raff Designs), I used Coffee Shop and Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist while blocking off the birds. I then covered parts of the branches so I did not get any “Overspray” on them when I altered the birds using Patina Glimmer Mist.
If you look closely, you will also notice that not only were the embellishments enhanced using Glimmer Mist, but I took an assortment of Glimmer Mist to create my own coordinating paper in which I stamped all of the numbers for the countdown portion.
Each of the 25 pockets (one for each day prior to Christmas) was embellished using these altered papers and embellishments and now that it is the first of December, I will fill each pocket with a special family activity (one for each day in the days leading up to the holiday).
This is again one of those projects where a little Glimmer Mist went a long way towards pulling an entire mish mash of products together (not necessarily designed to coordinate with eack other) into a very eye pleasing project that is sure to become a favourite decoration in my home for many years to come (especially because of the memories that will be formed by doing the random activities together as a family:).
So whether you have a lot of time on your hands and want to create an in depth holiday project or only a few short minutes to complete a very simple card… do not forget to take some time as often as possible for YOU over the next couple of weeks to keep those creative juices flowing. It is sure to bring a bit of happiness not only to your day, but the lucky recipient as well(if you can bare to give them away… loL!)
Be sure to check out the Tattered Angels Design Team blogs as I know there are a plethora of other phenomenal projects featuring Tattered Angels as well! I know I am giving away some beautiful Glimmer Chips and 2 bottles of Glimmer Mist on MY blog right now so head on over for some more great Tattered Angels Eye Candy!!!
Happy Holidays!!!
