Goodbye Summer…

beach-layout-merged-copy-286x300Well, the end of summer is all but here.  The kids are going back to school and hopefully the weather will get cooler soon.  Now is the time to scrap those summer memories.  One of the things I  love the most about Tattered Angels products is their versatility.

beach-layout-002-218x300 For this layout I used the large swirl chipboard image from the Regal glimmer chips to give the feel of a wave on mypage.  To make the look of seaspray on the swirl, and sand around the photo I layed a layer of salt on a piece of cardstock and sprayed over it with glimmer mist(for seaspray I used seaglass glimmer mist and the sand I used sand glimmer mist) then I dried it with my heat gun and rubbed it off of the cardstock.  I applied glue to the swirl and around the picture and sprinkled the colored salt over the glue.

beach-layout-001-218x300

For the “patterned paper” I tore strips of white tissue paper and sprayed them with Seaspray, Blue Skies, and Seaglass glimmer mist.  I dried them with my heat gun and glued the strips to a piece of white cardstock overlapping the strips in places and adding plain white strips to create the look of waves.  While the glue is wet I smooshed the tissue paper up to create texture and dimension.  I used a piece of 12×12 corrugated cardboard for the background.  I sprayed it with sand glimmer mist after tearing the top layer off.  After the glimmer mist was dry, I used white acrylic paint and brushed it over the corrugated cardboard.  I sprayed some white flowers with perfect peach glimmer mist and glued real shells into the center.  I also used the day at the beach calling card from the beach bingo cards set.  For the “sand” at the bottom of the page I simply sprayed sand glimmer mist onto white cardstock and tore the edges.

I also created a mini book using the new Regal Embossed Chip Tiles.  I adore these new chip tiles.  They are so easy to work with, and you can create a fabulous project in no time with these.  For the “pages” of the book I simply sprayed them with glimmer mist, in some cases using glimmer screens, dried them, and rubbed a gold ink pad over the embossed areas.  Then I inked the edges with gold ink and sprinkled gold tinsel embossing powder over the ink and heated.renaissance-fair-book-001-447x640

For the front and back cover I used Pashmina and Frozen Lake glimmer mist

renaissance-fair-book-002-640x593

I used patterned paper from Die Cuts with a view for the left page and throughout the book, and Sunflower, Walnut Gold Glimmer mist for the page at right.  I used walnut ink over the embossed areas of this page.

renaissance-fair-book-003-640x578-300x271

For these pages I used Sapphire glimmer mist on both pages, and Gold glimmer mist for the mat for the picture.

renaissance-fair-book-004-640x600-300x281

On these pages I used patterned paper on the left, and Haunted Shadow and Scarlet glimmer mist on the right.  On the embossed chipboard pieces I sprayed them with Gold glimmer mist, inked with walnut ink and sprinkled gold tinsel embossing powder over them and heated.  I love how there is a glimmer mist color to go with every color of patterned paper!

renaissance-fair-book-005-640x585-300x274

For this page I used patterned paper on left, and Dewberry, Olive Vine glimmer mist on the right.

renaissance-fair-book-006-640x582-300x273

For these pages I sprayed both pages with gold glimmer mist. Then I layed my screens down and sprayed over them with Arctic Blue, and Pashmina glimmer mist on the left page, and pashmina and Sapphire glimmer mist on the right.

For the back cover I used Pashmina and Frozen Lake glimmer mist.  Love those hinges on the glimmer tile.

And one final project for you…  My daughter got this shirt for back to school and asked me to create a pair of earrings for her to go with it.  The perfect choice, the fleur de lis glimmer chips!  I used Cranberry Zing glimmer mist to color them, then I punched small holes into the chipboard and added beads, and posts.  Then I adhered tiny rhinestones to the earrings.  A perfect match!

More CHA Sneaks

halloween-cha-book-0122Here are some sneaky peeky’s of the new products coming out this month at CHA.  This project was made using the Outdoor Bingo Cards, and the new In Flight butterfly stamps.  I used Olive Vine, Tuscan Sun, Patina, Wheatfields, Suede, and Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist for the canvas.

This album was created with the new Halloween Bingo Cards, Stamps, and screens.  I used Jack-O-Lantern, Graphite, Raven, Haunted Shadow, and Old Lace Glimmer Mist for the Halloween book.  Since I love Halloween so much, I’ll give you two peeks of this one!halloween-cha-book-005

And here is one last project.  This one is not for CHA, but I used the new Nature Chip Tiles that will be released at CHA to create a banner.  I’m just showing little pieces of the banner, but once I get it hung up, I will show the whole thing. I also used the Butterfly Framed Fonts, Creme de Chocolate Nature Chips and Glimmer Mist in Peach Delight, Patina, Olive Vine, and Coffee Shop.   These chip tiles are so easy to create with, and there are so many things you can do with them.100_2111

From the moment I saw the Transatlantique collection from Graphic 45, I knew it would be perfect with Tattered Traveler collection from Tattered Angels.  All this week, the Design Team will be posting their creations using the two companies products.  These photos are of the cover and a few pages of the album I created using the two.  The Graphic 45 papers and tags are always so beautiful that you don’t even need photos!  One of the things I love about Glimmer Mist is it’s ability to make paper look like metal.  On the picture of the “porthole” page, I used Antique Brass, Coffee Shop, Patina, and Forest Green Glimmer Mist.  I just randomely sprayed Antique Brass and Coffee shop onto the circle which was cut from one of the foldout pages of the Traveler Album.  I used my brayer to move the Glimmer around and create interesting effects with it.  I dried the paper a little with my heat gun, then I randomely sprayed Patina and Forest Green over the top to create an aged brass look.  I added brass brads, and used foam tape to pop up the circle from the photo on the page.  Hope you like it!  One more thing, be sure to leave a comment on our blog this week to be eligible to win a prize.  I hear there are stamps and Glimmer Mist involved!  And while your visiting the site please click on the giveaways tab for more chances to win something fabulous!  Happy glimmering.

Fathers Day Gift Idea

fathers-day-box-001-640x447

You can easily create a special and unique gift for dad by selecting  masculine colors of Glimmer Mist, and using a more “rugged” base for your project.  Here, I used an empty Glimmer Kit box (I know you’ve got them).  I simply peeled off the top layer of the box to reveal the corrugated cardboard underneath.

100_1656-640x480

Next, I sprayed the sides of the box with English Ivy Glimmer mist.fathers-day-box-front-view-001

I then sprayed the edges of the lid and the edges of the sides with Tattered Leather.  I inked all of the edges of the box with walnut ink and added the copper corners and brads. for the Top of the lid I cut a piece of light totally tan cardstock from Colormates and sprayed the whole piece with sand Glimmer Mist, using a brayer to spread the glimmer mist.

100_1661-640x4801

I layed down the compass glimmer screen in the center of the cardstock piece and sprayed over it with English Ivy.  After the glimmer mist was dry, I used the compass screen print stamp to stamp an image at the top left and bottom right corners.  Then I distressed the edgess with an edge distresser, and inked the edges with walnut ink.

100_1662-640x480

I tore a piece of vintage map patterned paper slightly larger than the cardstock piece.  I sprayed the patterned paper with Sand Glimmer mist.  When dry, I adhered the map paper to the top of the box, then the cardstock piece.  I sprayed a piece of light totally tan cardstock with Tattered Leather and crumpled it while the glimmer mist was still wet.  I unfolded it, smoothed it out and dried it.  I sprayed the Tattered Traveler framed fonts with Tuscan Sun Glimmer mist and then Sand Glimmer Mist over the top.  After they were dry, I inked the edges with walnut ink.  I adhered them to the strip of crinkled cardstock and attached to the top of the box with brads.  I used a Tattered Traveler framed font outer piece for the pocket watch accent.  I sprayed the pocket watch chipboard piece, the keyhole chipboard piece, and the key chipboard piece with coffee shop glimmer mist, copper glimmer mist, and patina glimmer mist to make them look like aged copper.

Voila, your done!  This whole project only took about an hour.  I also covered the inside of the box with more of the vintage map patterned paper.  You could try all sorts of color combinations for this box, my husband just happens to prefer green and brown.  Have fun creating, and Happy Fathers Day!

Summer’s Coming!

Designed by Cheryl McAdam

Designed by Cheryl McAdam

It has been so hot lately, it feels like summer is here already.  The new beach themed bingo and calling cards were the inspiration for this summer layout.  I used the glimmer screens from the Master set.  I also used the Regal Framed Fonts for the title.  For the wave image on the left of the page I used the large swirl screen and sprayed over it with Turquoise and Riptide Glimmer Mist.  I cut out a circle of white cardstock and sprayed it with Peach Delight Glimmer Mist and then used the small swirl screen and stamped on the sun image using Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist.  For the sun rays I used another screen from the Master set, and stamped with it using Peach Delight Glimmer Mist.  I ran out of A’s for the title Aquarium, so I cut around the negative image of a framed font, then sprayed it with Riptide Glimmer Mist.  Then I cut strips of cardstock that I sprayed and ripped from the edge of the circle mat on the layout.  I placed them in a striped pattern on white cardstock, then layed the adhesive side of the “A” over the strips and cut it out.  For the word “long” I used Peach Delight and Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist.  The new bingo boards and calling cards are so easy to work with and versatile.  There are so many things you can do with them, just play!

Yep, another box

100_1100-640x480If you haven’t noticed, I have a real thing for boxes.  Love them.  All shapes, all sizes

.  This particular box I found at the Melissa Frances booth at the Costa Mesa Expo.  I knew immediately what I would use it for.  In addition to boxes I also have a passion for bling.  Sequins, glitter, rhinestones, Glimmer Mist in every color, you name it.  If it sparkles I must have it. Well, the bling was out of control.  It was literally spilling out of baskets, and drawers, so I knew this box would be my new bling home.  I used Creme de Rouge, Creme de Chocolate, and Old Lace Glimmer mist to color the box.  I also used the Creme de Rouge glimmer glass on the lid, and Glimmer Screens from the Large starter set of screens.
The rhinestones over the drawers are from Prima.  I layed the say it in crystals piece over the drawers, then cut them apart where the drawers open.  It holds all of my “flat” bling perfectly.

Guest Designers for Scraptivity

Lauren and I were invited to be guest designers for the month of April on the Scraptivity site.  What fun!  We received a delicious package of goodies, including of course, Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glass, and Glimmer chips along with some awesome new products from Heidi Swapp and Pink Paislee.  The invisibles paper is a great mix with the glimmer mist because it comes totally white and has embossed areas on the paper.  When you spray it with glimmer mist, the paper changes color, but the embossed areas stay white.  Love this!  Check out what Lauren and I made at the Scraptivity site here.   We also received adorable stamps from Scraptivity that are so versatile and cute.

Go Green with Glimmer Mist

Happy St. Patricks Day to you all!  Green isn’t just for St. Patricks Day.  You can be green all year long by recycling and re-using things, especially the gorgeous packaging that your Tattered Angels products come in.  Here are a few ideas:  Make your empty Glimmer Chips box to make a photo frame.  Clean out an empty Glimmer Mist bottle, decorate it and put your favorite body spray into it.  Use the cardboard box that your Glimmer kit comes in and the beautiful box from your Glimmer Screens to create an elegant keepsake box.  These are just a few ideas to go “green” with Tattered Angels.  Oh, and while your here, be sure to check out all of the beautiful colors of green Glimmer Mist in the shop.  Have a lucky day!

Family Tree Layout

Here is a layout I created using the new Tree Screen and Tree Stamp as well as the new Regal Framed fonts(for the frames on the tree without the letters).  I just love the versatility of the tree images.  You can use them as they are, or you can stamp multiple images as I did here to create a larger image.  I drew the tree trunk and cut it out of cream cardstock.  Then I sprayed it with Tattered Leather Glimmer mist and crumpled it up while it was still wet.  Then I smoothed it out, dried it and adhered it over the page with the leaves.  For the fence I used the fence Glimmer Screen and inked it with black pigment ink.  Then I turned it over on my page and rubbed over the screen with a popsicle stick to transfer the ink to the page.  I’ve been a busy girl, so I will have more projects for you tomorrow!
