Inspired

This month I was inspired by the beautiful vintage inspired Webster’s Pages papers and embellishments.  As soon as I saw these papers, I just knew that I needed to do a layout from one of my favorite pictures of my mom.  I used Bubbles Glimmer Mist on the blue pattern paper to give just a hint a glimmer and shine.  I used Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist on the pink pattern paper and then spritzed Crushed Shells for the journaling.  I painted Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist on the Webster’s Page Cameo and added glitter.  It fit perfectly in the Glimmer Glass accent.  For the Framed Fonts Postage Stamp Chipboard frame I used a combination of Crushed Shells, Vintage Pink and Viva Pink.

The nature pictures of the Webster’s Pages inspired me use the new Custom Cut-Outs Paper Tags – Rockin’ Renaissance tag to create a bird tag.  I had a great time creating this tag using Crushed Shells and Chocolate Covered Cherry.  I used the fun, new Ir-Resist-ible Chips – VaVa Victorian Bird.  I just loved when I sprayed on the Glimmer Mist and then wiped off it reveals the pattern.  I then combined Glimmer Glass, vintage pearls, lace and twigs complete this fun and easy tag.

Since it is February, the month for lovers, I decided to make a fun simple decoration using Timeless Romance Glimmer Screen and heat embossed the heart design with the Timeless Romance Screen Prints – Clear Stamps.  I then stamped on the vintage album page with the sames stamp set.  I just love the vintage inspired postcard and stamp designs.

I then used the Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist to dye the twill and flowers.  I then used more the the Ir-Resistable Chips – VaVa Reniasance Rose and Heart chipboard.  Just look at the pattern and detail in them!

I then glimmered the Framed Fonts Postage Stamp frame with Crushed Shells and Chocolate Covered Cherry Glimmer Mist.  I then added vintage buttons and lace to finish.  I have enjoyed being inspired by beautiful papers and fun, new product.

I hope you are inspired to create soon.

More Tattered Angels and Webster’s Pages Goodness

Hi Everyone! This is Susan and I’ve got quite a few Tattered Angels and Webster’s Pages projects to share with you today, using the new CHA releases of course!

First up, here’s a layout I created using the lovely new Timeless Romance collection and Webster’s Pages Sweet As Cherry Pie papers.

Wish

I misted directly onto the patterned paper, using the Timeless Romance heart glimmer screen with Rose Tea and Tutti Frutti. I then stamped the new postcard frame from the Timeless Romance clear stamps as a frame for my photo.

Wish-CU2

I’ve used the new Timeless Romance Calling Cards in the cluster to the right of the photo. I misted the entire card with Old Lace, then painted in the roses and leaves with Scarlet and Lime Twist.

Wish-CU1

The title alphas are from the new Postage Stamps Framed Fonts. I misted these with Iridiscent Gold to give them a glint of shimmer while retaining the original ivory shade, and outlined the alphas in Lime Twist.

Wish-CU3

Webster’s Pages papers are great for cutting out and here you can see the dimensionality I created with the lace and cut-outs.

Next up is this altered tag which I just completed yesterday and I love the shabby-chic feel of it. These Tailored Tags are new from Tattered Angels and their size is perfect for altering.

Bird-Tag

I misted the tag with Lemon Grass, Caribbean Blue, Burnt Red and Vintage Pink, then cut out the bird and leaves images from the very pretty Postcards from Paris paper.

Bird-Tag-CU2

I added a lace trim in ecru, a velvet green ribbon and a pleated brown satin ribbon to the tag, and set that off with a custom-coloured flower. I wanted the flower to match the tag perfectly, so I misted the originally-white flower in Moonlight.

Bird-Tag-CU3

To complete the tag, I added a Glimmer Glass dragonfly from the Nature collection as well as some lace trims and a pearl brad to the top of the tag.

Bird-Tag-CU4

I designed the tag with a pocket so you can slip in a little message or greeting into the pocket. Here, I’ve slipped in a Paper Tag from the new Rockin’ Renaissance collection.

The next few projects I created for CHA Winter. This next one is a shadow box I created using Webster’s Pages Postcards from Paris papers.

Winter-Berry

I misted the background cardstock in the new Hula Hoop and Water Slide shades, over a large grand-scale Glimmer Screen from the Garden Collection.

Winter-Berry-CU2

Here you can see the different layers I’ve created from the use of lace, cut-outs from the patterned paper and chipboard. The title “Winter Berry” sits on the new Postage Stamp Framed Font chipboard frame, which I misted with the new Dazzling Diamonds. I love this new mist. All the glimmer without the colour. :)   To complete the garden feel, I added in a glimmer glass bird and a glimmer glass flourish corner.

Winter-Berry-CU1

Here’s the project from another angle so you can see the shadow box effect.

A romantic card next, with flowers, sheer ribbons, lace and Magical Wishes paper from Webster’s Pages.

Card---Regal

The lock and key are a Glimmer Chip and Glimmer Glass from the Regal collection. I misted the lock chip in Flower Power and Vintage Pink, allowing the raised embossed details to show through, which I then highlighted with some stickles.

Card---Regal-1

I wanted the flower to stand out so opted to keep it in its original ivory shade, but liberally misted with Dazzling Diamonds and Iridescent Gold so the glimmer would catch the sunlight.

Finally, here’s an altered canvas I created using the new Seaside Collection and Graphic 45’s new On The Boardwalk papers.

Altered---Beach

Glimmer Mists work really well on canvas. I misted the canvas in Caribbean Blue and Sunshine over the new On The Beach Glimmer Screen.

Altered-Beach-CU4

And one of my favourite mists this season – Dazzling Diamonds on the Prima flower and Dazzling Diamonds and Bubbles on the Seaside glimmer chip shell.

Altered---Beach-2

I misted this chipboard heart with Candy Apple Red and crackle glazed it. The patterned paper’s from Graphic 45’s new On The Boardwalk collection. Love the vintage images.

Altered-Beach-CU3

This seahorse glimmer glass is part of the new Sea Glass collection. I also dabbed on some of the new Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove on the top left corner with a paint brush. I used the new Crushed Shells glimmer mist on the manila tag, misting over another new glimmer screen from the Under The Sea collection.

Altered-Beach-CU5

Jon the rest of the design team for all of February as we show you more of what we’ve created using the brand new Tattered Angels releases, as well as Webster’s Pages. :)

Have a great week!

Butterflies and Babies…

Hello everyone!  I’m excited to be with you today as I have a special project to share with you…one using the Nature Glimmer Glass Window Album.  Mini albums are right up there at the top of my most favorite things to create….something about their small, compact nature and the way they look filled to the brim and ready to pop that make me love them so.

os21

I sat creating this with my little one right by me coaching me along…this is just for her.  She has always been a great little journal-keeper….since she was tiny, I’d give her a place to record her drawings, her ABC’s…anything her heart desired.  Now looking back we have a couple of journals filled with her creations and it is fun to look at how she has grown in her education and learning…she now fills her diary with songs, stories, letters, what she is learning at school, etc.  So, I thought it was time to let her write her own story….I want to hear in her own words what she remembers and knows about her sweet life this far.  os34

I matted the window with cream tulle to create a touch of softness before painting and then adhering the Glimmer Glass butterfly in the opening.  Then added a painted and glittered Glimmer Glass butterfly included in the kit on top of the window and added dimension by bending up the wings and finished it off by adding a flower and button.

os14

The Creme de Rouge Regal Glimmer Chips added perfect touches throughout the album.  Here I’ve distressed and glittered the large frame from this set to create the title page for the album.  os23

I think our story is worth telling….of course it is my favorite of all time.  It was important to give her areas to include her journaling, so I attached notebook pages taken from a Melissa Frances die cut notebook…they look so beautiful paired with the Tattered Angels products.

 os24

I used my favorite Decorative Corner Glimmer Screens with coordinating Regal Classic Accent stamp.

os25

os26

os27

os16The Glimmer Chips are so fun to use as accents and to also help create little mini focal points such as this photo corner that I used to create the roof of a house.

  os18

Lastly, adding a bit of shimmer to the butterflies on the tabs added to the sweet, baby theme and was such a fun way to finish off the page.

The Glimmer Mist colors I used throughout are some of my very most favorite shabby picks…they include Rose Tea, Creme de Cocoa, and Patina.os19

I love adding trim and ribbon along the edges of my pages…it’s a fun way to bring these elements in and add to the sweet, feminine feel of the album.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I am not quite finished with the album yet.  The rest of it is a little more personal with where I am in my life right now.  :)

As you may have noticed, I used several fun things from Tattered Angels.  I used Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Screens, Glimmer Glass, Glimmer Chips and Framed Fonts.  I also used Bingo Boards and Calling Cards.  :)  Lots of fun stuff!

Well I truly hope you are having a wonderful holiday.  Tattered Angels has so many fabulous things in store for 2010!  You won’t be disappointed!

Have a wonderful day!

explore album

Hi everyone, this is Gaëlle from France :)

Today I’m going to show you a mini album I made with the Nature Chip Tile Kit. A gorgeous kit, wit green, red and brown mist colors, that was perfect for my photos of a family trip we made for Christmas 2008.

I made the covers and pages with the embossed tiles. I colored the first cover with the Mustard Seed Glimmer Mist. I also used the leaf mask with the Burnt Red Glimmer Mist, and the Suede Mist on the tag. I cut the word “Explore” in a bingo card for the title. Than I sticked the ribon and a Glimmer Glass, and wrote a few words.

DSC_0287_modifié-1 (Medium)

For all the album, I printed and resized my 5 photos at the size of the tiles. Then for every double page, you have a photo with embellishments included in the kit, and an embossed tile colored with the mists and decorated.

DSC_0289_modifié-1 (Medium)

Do not hesitate to stack elements…

DSC_0291_modifié-1 (Medium)

To color the tiles, you can use the Glimmer Glasses as some masks, as I did here with the butterflies :

I wanted to keep an embossed side for the last cover, so the last double page doesn’t have any embossed part, that’s why I covered one page with the beautifull  green printed paper :

Then the last cover, colored with the Mustard Seed, and Burnt Red + Glimmer Glass :

Have great holidays and take care !

Family Glimmer Chip Album

Hi there! This is Susan.

All this month, the designers will be showing off  the wonderful My Tattered Angels Glimmer Kits. I got to play with the Family-themed Chip Tile kit, which is just perfect for me, as I’ve always wanted to make an album for our family photographs taken on our vacations through the years.

The kit comes with glimmer chips, glimmer glass, bingo boards, a glimmer screen, three mini bottles of glimmer mist in Sand, Patina and Scarlet, and all other accessories you would need to create an album, including tulle, ribbons, a copper key and lots more.

Here’s my album cover:

Album-cover-white

I misted Sand glimmer mist all over the cover chip tile, then highlighted the gorgeous embossed details with some ink. The album title was cut from a Bingo Board, then mounted on some corrugated cardboard which also came with the kit.

album-flower

I made a flower embellishment using some music sheets I had at home, spraying it with Patina for a lovely blue hue. The leaves were handcut from the corrugated cardboard and sprayed lightly with Scarlet glimmer mist for some shimmer and colour.

key

To jazz up the album, I tied the chocolate tulle that came with the kit around one of the album rings, then attached the copper key to the tulle using the swirly ivory ribbon.

On to the inside pages.

 album-4-shot

album-p1

album-p2

album-p3

I’ve left the pages on the right side of the album plain to allow me to add journalling later. One great thing about this album is because it is held together by rings, I can add pages to it in the future, by using the rest of the chip tiles and bingo boards from the kit.

As I was making the album, I decided I wanted to use the chip tiles differently. This time, I made a hanging decor.

hanging

I wanted to try a different method of misting the chip, so I experimented with a wax resist technique. First, I applied wax to the embossed images on the cream tile. Next, I sprayed Scarlet glimmer mist liberally all over the chip tile. Then I carefully wiped off the mist from the embossed images and voila! The images showed through clearly in cream.

hanging-CU

Once the chip tile was dry, I added a bingo board and corrugated cardboard, both lightly misted in Sand, some tulle, ribbon, button, glimmer glass and a little lace misted in Sand. I punched two holes at the top of the chip tile, threaded some tulle through and my hanging photo decor was complete. :)

I have  to say I really enjoyed making my glimmer chip album and decor. I have even more ideas brewing in my mind. These kits are addictive! :)

Have a great day!

Susan

A Graphic Glimmer Experience

I can’t tell you how much fun I had to work with all the yummie Tattered Angels Products and the amazing Graphic 45 Papers.

The Transatlantique Collection by Graphic 45 just gave me the kick to start with my travel album about my recent trip to the States where I have been seeing a lot of stunning Nationalparks and Cities.

*Travel*

TravelSupplies: Tattered Angels  – Glimmer Mist: Red Velvet, Misty Breeze, Arctic Blue – Framed Fonts Regal Embossed – Glimmer Screens: Tattered Traveler – Clear Stamps: Compass - Bingo Boards and Calling Cards: Travel ; Graphic45: Transatlantique Collection – Pack Your Bags, Bon Voyage, Transatlantique Tags

I sprayed the Map Paper with Glimmer Mist and rolled a Brayer over it. I also sprayed with Glimmer Mist over white Cardstock and the Compass Screen. After it dried a stamped with the Compass Stamp on top and cut the image out. I sprayed with different Glimmer Mist over the Chipboard letters and as I wanted the color really saturated I didn’t blot it off but simply heat dried it.

*Road Trip*

Roadtrip

Supplies: Tattered Angels: Glimmer Screen Tattered Traveler, Tattered Traveler Clock, Framed Fonts Regal Embossed – Graphic45: Transatlantique Collection Traveloque, All Aboard, Paris Post

I used chalk over the Glimmer Screen and then stamped with the clock above it.

The Christmas Paper we got totally set me into holiday mood and I created the following Layout:

*Joy*

joy

Supplies: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Candlelight, Cranberry Zing; Framed Fonts Regal Embossed, Notes From the Garden Stamps – Graphic45: Christmas Collection Deck the Halls, Letters to Santa, We wish you a merry Christmas

I painted part of the paper with acrylic paint, I sprayed some Candlelight Glimmer Mist on top of a teflon sheet and used it with part of the Notes From The Garden Stamp and blotted the access off. I used Cranberry Zing Glimmer mit with the Framed Fonts and stamped the journaling stamp from the Notes From the Garden Set on top of some paper which I attached behind one of the Embossed Frames.

And then I created those Christmas Ornaments:

ChristmasOrnament_02

ChristmasOrnament_01

Supplies: Tattered Angels – Glimmer Mist Juniper, Misty Breeze, Irisdescent Gold, Graphite, Denim Blue, Turquoise Blue; Chip Tiles Regal Embossed; Framed Fonts Regal Embossed; Glimmer Glass Frosty Memories, Clear Stamps Nature Field Notes

Graphic 45: Ode to Joy Paper, Ranger Liquid Pearls and Inks, Adorondack Dimensional Pearls, Martha Stewart Glitter, 3L Adhesive, Ribbon unknown, My Little Shoebox Letter Stickers

I sprayed with different blue colored Glimmer Mists on top of the Chip Tiles as well as on the Frames. On the second ornament I stamped with the swirl stamp from the Field Notes Set. I used eggshell white Acrylic Paint behind the Glimmer Glass Icing and pressed it while still wet on top of the Chip Tile as the paint works as a great glue. I used Dimensional Pearls inside the second Frame and dipped little dots on the embossed dot parts of the Chipboard Tiles and Frames.

I hope those layouts, projects  and technics inspire you- have a wonderful and gorgeous day!

Tattered Angels + Graphic 45 = Love

No kidding!  I am in love with the pairing of these 2 product lines.  I could have created a bunch more projects and not been bored a bit.  The look is my favorite–vintagey and distressed.

My first project contains a new discovery… well for me anyway.  I covered the Regal Alpha Framed Fonts with a thick layer of Mod Podge then applied some coarse silver glitter.  Immediately after that step I sprayed on Olive Vine Glimmer Mist.  I really didn’t know what was going to happen or if the Glimmer Mist would even take to the glitter, but I was thrilled to see the results.  I couldn’t have come any closer to creating a glass glitter look if I had tried.  It even has that tarnished look, like I had actually used real, old, tarnished, German Glass Glitter.  To say that I am beside myself over this discovery is an understatement!

Many ideas to use this effect were swimming around in my head, so I made a mad dash for the craft store to find something else to glitter and glimmer.

I found some leaves that were already glittered up for Christmas, but I wanted that German Glass Glitter look, so I applied the same steps to them as I did the Regal alphas.
Mom layout
Just for the fun of it, I even tried another color on a bunch of artificial leaves.  In the photo below, the top image is the original leaves, then the coarse silver glitter ones sprayed with Olive Vine, and the bottom ones were sprayed with Pink Bubblegum Glimmer Mist.
Glimmer Mist glitter

On the layout I first sprayed Olive Vine Glimmer Mist to get a splattered look onto the background paper.  If you only push the spray nozzle down about half way, the mist will come out in bigger drops.  Then I used several  Graphic 45 “Domestic Goddess” papers, cut into strips to represent a quilted look, then added lots of stitching.  The Domestic Goddess tag was cut from their “Farmers Market” paper then layered over the glittery leaves with pop dots.
Mom glitter leaves close

I added a Regal Glimmer Glass crown that I painted black on the back side and sprayed Coffee Shop mist on the front.  The eyelet trim was aged with Candle Light and Suede Glimmer Mists.

My next layout features the The Graphic 45 “Domestic Goddess” papers once again with a piece of their “Transatlantic” paper used as the background.

On the Regal Chip Tiles that I used as photo mats, I first used glitter glue to highlight some of the embossed images in the tiles.  Once the glitter glue was dry I sprayed them with Candle Light and Suede mists.  The glitter glues took on the golden glimmer of the Candle Light mist and is so much prettier with my layout colors than the original color.
IMG_3652
The Regal Framed Fonts are sprayed with Seaglass Glimmer Mist then lightly with Suede to add some distressing.  The outside frame and photo corners are sprayed with Peppermint Stick and then Tiger Lily to make them closer to the color of the red in the papers.
Harvest word close

For my next project I used a Glimmer Screen from the Starter Kit, layed it on fabric then sprayed it with English Ivy.

I layered my fabric onto Graphic 45 “Your’s Truly” paper then added the embellishments.  I did the faux German Glass Glitter effect on the Regal Frame as on my “Mom” layout above.
Savor the Journey sampler
The “Savor the Journey” tag from the family Bingo Board set is sprayed with Marshmallow then Iridescent Gold.
Savor the Journey close

.

And just because I had some over spray on the fabric that I used above, I decided to mist a little more and added it to this journal.  The English Ivy was sprayed on the left side of the fabric first, then I laid down the Glimmer Screen from the Starter Kit and misted on Vintage Pink.
love endures journal
The journal was covered with Graphic 45 “Lady of the House” paper then Mod Podged to protect it from use.  I did lots of hand stitching and some beading onto the fabric, misted a big flower with Vintage Pink and Pink Bubblegum, then added it to the the front of the journal.  Now I can’t wait to fill up my journal!

Best wishes for a creative day,
Linda
