Tattered Little Projects

Hello all This month here at Tattered Angels we were lucky enough to work with My Little ShoeBox. Their papers are so adorable. And work sooo well with tattered Angels bright fun Glimmer Mist Colors.  I designed a LO this month using their Papers. I created the background using the Grand-Scale Garden Lattice Glimmer Screen.  The colors I used were Flower Power, Sunshine, and Lime Twist. Created the frame in the corner using One of the new Postage Stamp Fonts. And sprayed that with Cosmos. The title is made from misc. Glimmer Chip Fonts and also sprayed with Cosmos.

pals

I also made a couple multi-medium projects with Tattered Angels Products.  The first one is a canvas piece, using gel medium, glimmer mist, and the same Glimmer Screen as I used on the previous LO.  I used the glimmer screen as a stencil.  Colors used on this were Flower Power, Sunshine, and Yellow Daisy.  The Glimmer Glass is from the Seaside collection. The Glimmer Chips are also from the same collection.  canvas

For my last project I took it a little to the girlie side lol.  I used Cowboy Glimmer Glaze and Coffee Shop on the roof.  And Coffee Shop and Old Lace on the rest of the house.  The Glimmer chips are from the Regal and Heidi Swapp Collections and sprayed with Starfish.  I used the glimmer glass butterflies and heated them with my heat gun to alter them and add dimention.  And the finishing touch a Tattered Angels trinket key.

Sue’s May Creations

Hi from  Singapore! I had a fun time creating with my Tattered Angels goodies this month and I have three very different projects to show you.

First up, a layout that’s rather typical of my style. Pretty, a little shabby-chic, with lots of flowers, lace, mists and chips.

Be-5001

I misted Patina over a glimmer screen to create a pretty light turquoise background, which blended in perfectly with the Prima Pastiche papers.

Be CU1a

I misted the Framed Chipboard Frame and the Framed Fonts in Old Lace then coated them with some fine glitter. I like that the pale brown mist shows up through the glitter. And always one of my favourite Tattered Angels products, a pretty butterfly glimmer glass resting atop the chipboard.

Be CU2a

Next up, a canvas with lots of grungy details:

Canvas 2

The canvas was misted with Olive Vine and one of my new favourites, Chocolate Covered Cherries.

Canvas CU1

I misted a shipping tag with Candlelight and Suede, then stamped and heat embossed an image from the new Rockin’ Renaissance clear stamp collection. I used a lot of chipboard on this canvas, which I coloured to my satisfaction using lots of glimmer mists. The pocketwatch chipboard was misted with Patina and Coffee Shop for an aged look, the key and wings with Olive Vine and the wrought iron with Tattered Leather.

Canvas CU2

That clear little postage stamp is a Tattered Angels glimmer glass from the Traveller collection. I applied some Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove on it and I have to say the glimmer on the glaze is fantastic. But as I was going for a grunge look, I took my sanding block to the glaze, creating a distressed look.

Finally, a layout using some really pretty and cute papers from My Little Shoebox, with whom we are having a blog relay this month.

Ariel 2

The Beach collection of glimmer screens, glimmer glass and chips are just perfect for a beach or sea-themed layout, or in this instance, a Princess Ariel layout. The background was misted with a combination of Flower Power and Candlelight over a palm tree screen. I tore strips of blue My Little Shoebox patterned paper in irregular shapes to look like waves with little white crests and tucked in the little fish glimmer glass.

Ariel CU

The crab and seashell chips are just so cute I had to mist them in cheery shades of Sunflower, Candlelight, Coral Reef, Peach Delight and Caribbean Blue.

Thank you all for coming by the Tattered Angels blog and have a great scrappy week ahead. :)

Tattered Prima – a nice match :)

This month the national DTs of Prima and Tattered Angels teamed up and I decided to join since I love Prima and also teach a lot connecting both manufacturers.

First I altered this Prima Canvas Apron *Make Art*

Apron_25

I used a big range of Tattered Angels’ products here: Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glam, Glimmer Screens, Glimmer Chalkboards, Clear Stamps

Here is a detail shot:

If you want to know how I created this apron hop on over to the Tattered Angel Educator Blog- I posted a whole tutorial how I made it.

And then some layouts.

I love the new Goldfoil Tags- it is so fun to use Glimmer Mist, Chalkboard and Glimmer Glam over it.

LifeHeartsYou_TA_02

I used a brush and dipped it into Glimmer Mist to add little drops to the Flower Stamp from the Exclusivley Heidi Clear Stamp Set as berries.

LifeHeartsYou_TA_03

I also used two different Glimmer Mist Colors and a brush to paint in “Life” on the Bingo Board.

*Who are You?*

Here I painted over a piece of corrugated cardboard with acrylic paints and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and then ripped some of the layer off again to reveal the texture and kraft color. I used the Butterflies from the Framed Font Set and colored them with Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard – then rubbed them in Ink to reveal the embossed areas even more. I used some of the new wonderful Goldfoil Tag which I had treated also with Glimmer MIst and Glimmer Chalkboard behind the Butterflies.

Tried and True

Hello everyone!  This month as I worked with Tattered Angels and Prima Marketing  products, I was once again assured that if you have Glimmer Mist, you have a great way to alter or make a project your own.  Glimmer Mist rocks and is a wonderful staple to have in your art supplies.  A tried and true element for creating.

My first project is super simple.  I love that about it– that it is completely doable in a short time, yet can turn something ordinary into extraordinary.
Copy of IMG_4735

I used Prima’s Madrigal Blossoms in white and Natural Canvas leaves to make this embellishment for clothing.  I added color to the blossoms and leaves using Meadow Green, Denim Blue, Flower Power(peach), and Tutti Frutti(pink).  Once they were dry, I hand sewed them onto a small piece of lightweight muslin so that I can pin it on to a plain t shirt or skirt.

Copy of IMG_4726 My next project uses the Prima Canvas apron by Donna Downey.  You’ve already seen some pretty awesome images of the altered aprons from other design team members this month.  Here is mine…
Copy of IMG_4737

The Prima laces were misted with Delphinium and Tiger Lily, the ric rac was misted with Tutti Frutti.

I masked off some paper circles, used the Blossoms screens and added  embroidery stitches and buttons.  The Lilliput Roses in Marshmallow color were misted 3 different colors; Tiger Lily, Tutti Frutti and Delphinium.  The leaves were misted with Meadow Green.  Again, I made the flowers removable (using velcro this time) so that the apron can be used and washed.

Copy of IMG_4748My last project is a 12×12 layout using Prima’s pretty Strawberry Kisses collection papers.
Copy of IMG_4768

I  used a Garden Glimmer Screen and Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist to add the design to the background paper.  I also spritzed on a little bit of Turquoise Blue to the background, along with using it on the ric rac.  It matches the color in the paper perfectly!

Copy of IMG_4779The Lilliput Roses were misted with Peppermint Stick also.  I stamped the swirls with one of the Regal Classic Accents then added clear glitter while the paint was wet.  The small paper flowers are cut from one of the Strawberry Kisses papers–don’t they make a great accent to the page?  I also added one to the center of one of the Lilliput Roses for added dimension and to tie them in to the page.
The chipboard butterfly is a Framed Font from Tattered Angels that I added clear glitter and distressing to.Copy of IMG_4771

Thank you so much Prima Marketing for the lovely products to use along with Tattered Angels amazing Glimmer Mists.  Such a wonderful combination.

Happy creating!

More Prima + Tattered Angels

Hi everyone,

Today I’m going to show you 3 layouts. For the first one, I used a Prima paper, tainted with the Coffee Glimmer Mist. Then I took a paper mat (I hope that’s how you say it in English !), and colored it with red and blue Glimmer Mists, and a lace with the Sunflower Glimmer Mist. On the bingo board card, I put some Yellow Daisy with a brush. I also put some Turquoise on a Rockin Royalty Custom Cut-out. And, of course, some Prima Flowers !

DSC_0165_modifié-1 (Small)

Those two layouts are more “freestyle”. I used a grey cardboard, I sticked some paper, the title, a tag and masking tape, to give texture, and covered it with some gesso. Then I put some Turquoise, Pink Bubblegum and Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mists, and the Black Magic with a Glimmer Screen. I stamped a few words (from the Costal Breeze and Time Traveller sets) wrote my journaling, and then add a bit of gesso everywhere, to mix everything. Then I sticked my photo. The red rose is a (MIST)-A-BLES paper element.

DSC_0163_modifié-1 (Small)

I used the same technique for the last layout.

I took some Prima Flowers as masks. I also inlaid some butterflies, the title, and a Cut-Out in the Gesso.

That’s all for now, I wish you a fantastic day,

Gaëlle.

A little bit of Rock and Roll…

It comes to no surprise that Tattered Angels fans LOVE the look of our vintage products… well I have a little secret… I am not quite what you would call a “vintage” type girl. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE vintage and I often do by vintage items to use in my scrapbooking, but I fell in love with Tattered Angels because of the wonderful beautiful sparkle that Glimmer Mist gave my projects. The great vintage embellishments were kind of a bonus for me :)

But when it comes to altering stuff, I tend to go for more of the art mediums to customize embellishments to my needs, again why I love Glimmer Mist so very much!

With this in mind, it is kind of a running  joke around the office that I am the “Rock N’ Roll” kind of girl. All the ladies in the office often craft in a subtle vintage style which I absolutely adore, but when you line up my projects beside theirs… chances are you will be able to pick mine out of the line up (It reminds me of “One of these things is not like the other” from Sesame Street)

So I have embraced my difference, after all wouldn’t you want to be a little different? Break the mold a bit???

Using the Clip It Up by Simply Renee to organize my Glimmer Screens and Stamps

rock_on_5

rock_on_7

rock_on_6

I covered the spine of my Clip it Up with Fabric that was white and black and I Glimmer Misted with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist. If you do this, make sure not to glue down the bottom so that you can still go ahead and twirl your Clip it Up around. The top of the fabric stays secure due to it being held under the handle of my Clip it Up. There is no need to glue down the fabric.

Close up of the Golden Glimmer in Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist… Yum!

rock_on_8

And here is the totally Rockin’ base of my Clip It Up

I used a base of red acrylic paint (three individual coats for a true red color) I then layered it with Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist to make it sparkle and shine!

rock_on_11

I used Prima “Pulse” Alphas along with Heidi Swapp’s new Gothic alphas for the title. I embellished with Prima Say it in Crystal Swirls in Black and Prima Flowers. I flanked the Prima Flowers with sequin, Heidi Swapp Crepe Ribbon and black lace.

So I may be a little bit “Rock and Roll” but is it all that bad?

Thanks for taking a peek!

More Tattered Angels and Prima

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having an awesome day so far.  :)  So as you know Tattered Angels had a swap this month with Prima so the design team got to work with a bunch of Prima stuff this month. I had so much fun! They even sent me a canvas apron to alter!!!!  Here is what it looks like now…

Create-apron-600

Perhaps I should have ironed it, huh.  :)  I masked off sections and then sprayed repeatedly with Burnt Red glimmer mist and one of the Blossoms screens, so it looked like a printed fabric almost in the end. I also used some Lemon Grass glimmer mist and the butterfly screen on my apron. I then added my embellishments including Framed Fonts and flowers sprayed with glimmer mist. Here’s another look at the finished project:

Create-apron-2-600

And some close up’s:

Ok, and on to my first layout…

She's-So-Delicate-600

I can never get enough of those tree glimmer screens, and I used the Forrest Green glimmer mist. You will also see that I used a frame (from one of the framed fonts) and a glimmer glass piece, as well as some fun die cuts from Tattered Angels. The papers and the flowers from Prima go along with my theme of the layout perfectly…she’s so delicate! Here’s some close up’s:

And here is another layout for you…

That large shaped piece is actually from the packaging from the Prima apron. :) I sprayed the Burnt Red glimmer mist (again) on it over one of the Garden Lattice screens.  Here are some close up’s:
