And my project for today, is of course about LOVE

I have this time made a small wall project with a quote that will remind me that – “what comes from the heart, goes to the heart”.

Yes, that’s right, here are some of the new colors!! I was lucky to work with some of the new products for CHA and I have to tell you… they are AWESOME and I am very excited about them!! Bright, bold, strong, intens, rich… sooo my colors!

Colors used for this canvas:  Its Orange, Its Red, Tangy Lime, True Turquoise, Strong Pink, Grass, Cozy Yellow, Iron.

February is the lovers‘ month! The month where we celebrate Love with a big L. Therefore my next posts will be dedicated to the Love theme: let’s think pink, hearts and romanticism!

Let’s start with this first layout “Toi, my Big Love” in which stars my son Maxence. I had fun with heart dies, Glimmer Mist sprays and cloth, you’re with me?

 Supply list:

 Papers: Canvas Corp, American Crafts

Alphabets: Pink Paisley, American Crafts

Stickers: Making Memories, Deluxe Design, Kési’Art, Crate Paper

Stamps: Florilèges Design, Craft Origine

Washi Tape

Ink: Black Versafine

Glimmer Mist: Sunflower, Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rum Punch

Glimmer Glam: Organic Garden

Glimmer Glaze: Paradise Pink

1. Start with the preparation of your cloth pieces. Spray copiously pink Glimmer Mist inks (Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rum Punch) on a white square of cloth. Let it dry in the open or reduce the drying time by using your heatgun.

2. While the cloth is drying, spray your background patterned paper with yellow Glimmer Mist (sunflower).

3. Build your layout by superimposing stickers. Play with colors and shapes to get a nice unity.

4. Add your picture. It could be a color picture like mine or a black & white one.

5. Your cloth piece is now dry. Cut some pretty textured hearts out of it with your Big Shot. Glue 4 hearts on your lay-out, add some other stickers with text, and stamped patterns.

6. Add some patterned paper strips and Washi tape on the upper and lower parts of your lay-out.

7. As a finishing touch, add some splashes with the help of pink Glimmer Glam and anise green Glimmer Glaze.

8. Put it under press if necessary. Your layout is done!

I have a quick project to share with you today. Sometimes doing less is more…I’m actually in Anaheim, Ca. today for the Winter 2013 Craft & Hobby Show. It’s a HUGE show for manufactures to reveal all the new products for the next 6 months. 

I created this little wall hanging from a paper mache heart that I covered in 7Gypsies tissue paper and matte Gel Medium. Once dry I misted soaked the heart with a BRAND NEW color…It’s Red {and it’s red}. I found a small piece of vintage lace & ribbon that was misted with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist along with an organza flower. With the help from my go to Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive I was able to put the heart together including left over pearl garland and crystal drop. 

What a perfect way to say I Love You than giving this little hanging as a gift…PLUS…there are no calories involved!

I would like to share ”Valentine wrapping”

I made a flower with Canvas Sheet and Burlap Sheet.
Cut them in long and narrow strips, piled up, and stiched the center.

I cut a heart out of cardstock and covered it with cheese cloth, again using the sewing machine. I then misted the heart with Glimmer Mists Pink Poodle and Cupid.

I painted the lace with gesso and when it was dry I coloured it with the yellow Glimmer Mist Sun Sisters. I painted the letter stickers with Glimmer Glaze Icicle and I covered my photo and then splattered Glimmer Glam Tide Pool over everything.

Here are some detailed pics…..

And now let me reveal the trick: The base is just a cardboard heart like in my Ruffled heart project . To cover the look of the cardboard I smoothed the heart with adding on some  modeling clay.

After that I rolled a big piece of modeling clay, covered the heart and cut away the excess.

Than I dried the heart and shaped it into a steal covered object. The most amazing part was painting it. I used these Glazes: Nori, Champagne, Icicle, Pewter andJava. In some surfaces I combined two colors in other I used just one Glimmer glaze.

So, here you have a different idea and I hope it will have sweet consequences anyway

Here you can see the plastic sheet once I have cut the image from it with the die. (Flower and Leaves #3)    When I’m finished, I can just wipe them off, let them dry and store them in a binder to use again and again.

Once it was dry I went around  with some pen work (using a fine tip black sharpie), and stamped my big letters for my title.

Nothing wrong with a healthy LOVE of your paints… and a PASSION to create right??? lol
