Irresistible Tag

Hi everyone, it’s Erin here today to share with you how I made this 6 inch long irresistible tag out of real wood veneer paper.

–First I used my Cricut to cut out the tag.  I used the “GiftBag1″ tag from the ” Once Upon a Princess” cartridge and I punched a hole in one end for my ribbon.
–Next I painted a couple of coats of “Hay Ride” Glimmer Glam over the entire wood tag and allowed it to dry.  (The more coats you put on the better it will resist the Glimmer Mist  when it’s sprayed on it.)
–Then I placed a screen over the tag and painted Gesso on top of it.  I removed the screen and let it dry.
–Next I covered the entire wood tag with dry wall tape (it’s sticky on one side and has holes all over it so it’s great to use as a mask!) and then I sprayed “Pomegranate” Glimmer mist over all of it and blot it dry.  I peeled off all of the dry wall tape and blot it again.
–For the flowers I took some of the Prima white paper flowers and used a fan brush to paint them sparingly with “Chandelier” Glimmer Glam.  The larger flower I sprayed with “Pomegranate” and “Tattered Rose” Glimmer Mist and the smaller flower just got sprayed with “Tattered Rose”.   Once they were dry I painted a coat of “Chandelier” Glimmer Glam on them for extra glimmer.   I then stapled my flowers right onto the tag.
–For the Irresistible Chips bird I sprayed her with “Dragonfly” Glimmer Mist and blotted her dry.  I then used a paintbrush to paint on “Blue Suede Shoes” Glimmer Glaze to add a bit of shadowing to her.  After she was dry I peeled off the backing and adhered her on top of the flowers.
–I added a crystal for the bird’s eye and a few more sprayed of crystals coming out of the flowers and then tied on a ribbon.
So there you go!  Just tie it onto a gift basket or a jar or bottle and you have a great gift for someone special.

I took the summer off from teaching classes, but I’m working on my upcoming ones so stay tuned to my own blog and the Tattered Angles Educator’s blog for more details!

Glimmer Mist Canvas to Create Something Cool!

Hey bloggers! Lynn here, with a quick and easy way to make a bookmark that can be customized for any occassion using your favorite Glimmer Mist color and a few other supplies!

Here are the supplies you need:

Tattered Angels Gimmer Mist
Claudine Helmuth Sticky Back Canvas
Rubber Stamp and Stamping Ink
Eyelet and Ribbon

Here’s how you make a quick and easy bookmark:
First, cut or tear the sticky back canvas to the size desired.

Then, spray liberally with Glimmer Mist of your chocie.

After that, let the stamping begin. Rubber stamp on top of the Glimmer Mist and allow to dry.

Then, to add a little extra pizzaz, I sprayed with a top coat of Irredescent Pearl to “seal the deal.” If you want to stick patterned paper to the back side of the bookmark, it’s easy because the back side of the canvas is… well…. sticky!!

Finally, Punch a hole at the top, set the eyelet and string ribbon through and tie. If you want to add extra flair to your bookmark, you can spray the ribbon with Glimmer Mist, as well. {I sprayed my ribbon to match and I like the effect!}

That’s it! You’re done. This bookmark is a quick and easy gift that can be customized with names, dates or any special sentiment you like!

These little pieces of art would make great gifts for members of a bookclub, a church study group, red hat ladies, or friends who enjoy reading!! And after testing this process to make a bookmark, why not use these technique to create embellishments for scrapbook pages or altered projects?? You see, the possibilities are endless!!

Have fun!

Fascination with the Heidi Swapp Fascination Folder!

I have to admit that I had seen the Fascination Folders and had NO idea what to do with them. So i did a google search hoping to find something. Nope, nada, zip!  Ok, now i have to really get inventive and see what i can do.  WOW…i had a ton of fun and truly LOVE what i made.

I used the Fascination Folders and the Fascination Folders Add on Pages, some Candy Apple Red, Tattered Leather and Walnut Gold Glimmer mist, Destination unknown Glimmer Chips, Framed Fonts – Postage, Tattered Traveler bingo boards and the Travel Stamps.

Look how wonderful all these goodies look! The fascination folders have a resist built into them. So right out of the package they are beautimus!

and of course the add-on pages

I started adding my colors of mist. Red is my favorite color, especially a really deep dark red. I let the colors set for a little bit so they would soak in to the cover.

I then took the most fabulous bottle of Chandelier Glimmer Glam (coming soon to a store near you!) and coated over the entire cover.  It gave the colors an incredible boost and added so much pretty sparkle.

I tried to capture the glitter with my camera but it didn’t work out so well. Sorry.

I added my embellishments and did a few pages on the inside and voila….my new Travel journal for my upcoming vacation.

Here are a few of the inside pages:

I hope that now you won’t wonder like i did and just jump right in.

This is also now going to be a class that i will be teaching. Its funny how that works out :)

Peace homies!!

Laundry Day and Glimmer Mists…

Laundry – not my favorite thing to do.  But when  you combine laundry day and crafting, things start looking up!

I use generic dryer sheets, and I use them more than once.  I happened to notice that the used dryer sheets are very soft…and it made me wonder how glimmer mist would take to them.  The answer:  very nicely!

I’ve made a birthday card using two Tattered Angels tags and a dryer sheet (for a flower and a pocket).

Lightly mist a used dryer sheet, scrunch it up and soak up the excess glimmer mist on your mat.  Let the dryer sheet dry, or use your heat gun to dry it.

Tear the dryer sheet in half, and then take one half and tear it in half again.

Tie the two strips together into a knot at one end.  Attach the knotted end to the center of an adhesive covered circle (I used a 1-1/4” circle punch).  I let adhesive extend past the circle and pressed the excess adhesive to the back side of the circle.

Loosely twist and wrap the dryer sheet in a circular motion while pressing it into the adhesive.  When you reach the end, tuck the end of the dry sheet onto the adhesive as well, or attach it behind the circle on that excess adhesive.  I used the end of a paint brush to open up the center of the flower a bit more and attached a button to the center.

I lightly sprayed both Patina and Sunflower Glimmer Mists to both my tags.
I folded the top down on my larger tag and misted the back of the top half as well.

The smaller tag was placed on top of the folded section.

I trimmed the remaining half of the misted dryer sheet to size and stitched it onto the tag to serve as a pocket for a gift card, and added the dryer sheet flower.

I still had one dryer sheet left, and I couldn’t stop myself, so I made a  couple of “crepe paper” style flowers, added stamen to the centers, and attached them to another tag.  I added Clear Glimmer Glam to the top of these.

Who knew laundry day could be so fun?

Creating your own background with Lace

Hello everyone! Hope June has been a fantastic month for you!  For this month, I created a layout using Glimmer Mists, Glimmer Glaze and Glimmer Glam!

I love the soft look of the background and it is really simple to do!  All you need is a white cardstock and a big piece of lace.

Layer the lace on top of the cardstock.

I went shopping for a really cool piece of lace.  This one had nice big flower designs.  There are tons of different lace available and I’m sure you’ll be able to find something suitable from big designs like the one I got to really nice small patterned designs.

Next, choose your favorite Glimmer Mist colors and mist the cardstock.  For this layout, I used PASHMINA, DEEP PURPLE,  SCARLET and a little JACK O LANTERN Glimmer Mists.   As the lace is not stuck down onto the cardstock, hold the Glimmer Mist bottle slightly higher up to mist so that you get a fine layer of mist.

Tada!

By changing the colors and the design of the lace, you can change the look of the layout!

Here’s another way of using GLIMMER GLAM!  I used it to create a mat for my photograph :)   I love the consistency of GLIMMER GLAM and of course the extra pop of GLITTER! This is  LIPSTICK PINK Glimmer Glam!  Yummy!!!

Next, on to embellishing the layout.  I used a CUTOUT that had a really nice gold foil design and misted it with matching Glimmer Mist colors – PASHMINA, SCARLET and DEEP PURPLE.

Oh and I wanted to add our initials to the layout but the chipboard alpha I wanted to use had a dull gold color and I wanted to pump up the richness of the color… so I glazed it over with GLIMMER GLAZE – Saffron color.  See the image below.  The J was glazed over with GLIMMER GLAZE and the Y was the original gold color.  The Glaze really pumps up the gold ya?

Last but not least, I misted some white cardstock for my journalling.

Here is the final layout after some embellishments.  I added a little more DEEP PURPLE Glimmer Mist to the sides of the layout and edged it with CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES Glimmer Mist -

I had a lot of fun with the different Tattered Angels mediums!  Hope you’ll have fun too!  Remember to grab those yummy GLIMMER GLAZE and GLIMMER GLAM once they are available at your LSS!

Till my next post – happy misting!

Hey Everyone!  It’s Vicki here.  Today I’m sharing some of the pages I created  from my Fastenation Folder by Heidi.  If you havent created with one of these yet… you dont know what your missing! Wow!  I just finished this one , which is my very first, and I can not wait to start another!  Super fun and so easy to make…. a beautiful artsy project!

I knew what I had in mind for this album and wanted LOTS of pages , so I also used the Fastenation Add-ons.

These gorgeous designs are  hiding there just waiting to be exposed

when you mist over them with as many beautiful colors as you want.

You just spray and wipe. The resist design appears!

LOVE  how this album is set up!

It’s fun to see the images pop out.  It took me back to my childhood

when I had those paint/coloring books where all you had to do was

brush over them with a brush and water. lol

You can add your own touches as you go.

On the one below , I just used my drink cup out of the

trash can next to me. Love the effect!

These are just  a few of the pages from my album.  Now

I have them all finished and I’m ready to add my photos.

I’ll be posting it with the photos added, on my blog soon.

http://vickichrisman.blogspot.com

I hope I’ve inspired you to give one (or two, or three) a try! lol

Your going to love them!

I’m ready to start another , using a variety of other colors.

Enjoy the process~

Glimmer Mist as a Paint Medium

I use my Glimmer Mist as paint on a regular basis.  Now give me a few pieces of Prima Canvas, an acrylic block, a brush and some Glimmer Mist and I am one happy camper!

First get out your canvas piece, a paint brush and an acrylic block.  Spray your chosen color of Glimmer Mist on the acrylic block (one of my fave techniques) and brush on the mist.  The canvas and stitching soak up the color beautifully.

Once I had all the pieces “painted” I wanted to make a fun little sign for my studio.  I grabbed a piece of 8 x 8 chipboard and covered with Graphic45, Times Nouveau paper and inked the edges.

Then I grabbed some other fun items, some Punchinella from Gauche Alchemy for the fence and cloud, made my own curtains, hand cut a butterfly and wala!  a nice little sign for my room!

This was alot of fun to make, and it turned out so cute.

Happy Crafting,

This workshop is so fun to teach, that I thought I would make a quick video of the basic techniques here in my hotel room last night.  Let’s hear a Texas ‘Yeehaw!’ for hotel-videography!!  So while the sound quality isn’t typical, I think you will enjoy it for the technique focus.

Fastenation Folder Glimmer Techniques

When I return home tomorrow, I will add pictures of the finished pages, included photographs and the Glimmer Glass and Glimmer Chips I have colored as well so you can see the completed project.

Also, this class is being taught next Saturday at Bizzy B’s Stamp & Scrap in Toronto!  Contact the store to sign up!

Until then, know that NO SURFACE IS SAFE!… from being colored.

irRESISTibly Yummy!

Hello everyone!  This month I am going to share with you how to put together this layout below using some really yummy Tattered Angels products!  It’s really easy to make .. seriously!  You can substitute the colours/stamps as well as theme of the layout to suit your own needs!

You’ll need the following :

– A Bingo Board (i looove them!)
– A Rockin Royalty Custom Cut-Out tag
– A Glimmer Glass (I used the TICKET one from the CLEAR DESTINATIONS set)
– Some Glimmer Glam (I used Safron -I know they are not out yet but do run and get them as soon as they arrive at your LSS!)
– Some Glimmer Glaze ( I used Pink Lipstick – I know they are not out yet but do run and get them as soon as they arrive at your LSS!)
– Some Glimmer Mist colors that you love.  (I used Red Velvet, Coffee Shop, Tiger Lily, Bubbles, Sunflower)
– A Stamp
– Embossing Powder (I used CLEAR ones or you can use UTEE)
– Versamark / Embossing Ink.
– A Flower, some pearls and some lace.
– Butterfly punchouts
– Black cardstock

Ready?

We are first going to prep the Bingo Board.  First, get a stamp that you like, ink it with versamark and stamp several times over the Bingo Board.  Sprinkle some embossing powder over your stamp images.

Then, use a heat gun to melt the embossing powders till the powders melt.  The stamped image will have a nice glossy glazed feel.

Use GLIMMER GLAM (Pink Lipstick in this example) with a brush and brush some layers of GLIMMER GLAM onto the Bingo Board.  Do Not cover the entire board!  The GLIMMER GLAM gives the board a really nice shine as it contains bigger chunks of glimmer / glitter.   Use a paper towel to wipe away any GLiMMER GLAM that is sitting on top of the embossed images.  The embossed images will resist the GLIMMER GLAM.  (COOL EH!?).

Let the GLIMMER GLAM dry.

Once the GLIMMER GLAM is dry, mist the entire BINGO BOARD with coordinating GLIMMER MIST colors.  I used RED VELVET, TIGER LILY and COFFEE SHOP.  The portions that already have GLIMMER GLAM will resist the GLIMMER MIST too!  This is how my BINGO BOARD looked like after misting:

Later when the BINGO BOARD is dry, I went in an added a little more GLIMMER GLAM for that extra pop of glitter as well as some more TIGER LILY GLIMMER MIST.

Next, I msted a CUT OUT tag with GLIMMER MIST and inked the sides of the tag.  There is a really cool foil portion on the tag as well as some glazed portions that resists the GLIMMER MIST.  Check it out!

To add on to the page, I also used the super fun GLIMMER GLAZE (Safron) and added a nice layer over the clear GLIMMER GLASS.

The GLIMMER GLASS with the GLIMMER GLAZE will take some time to dry so let it sit for awhile.

While that is drying, take out your BUBBLES GLIMMER MIST and mist the entire BLACK CARDSTOCK.  I Loooooooooove how BUBBLES work with Black Cardstock as the glimmer will make the BLACK twinkle like the night sky!

Now place all the elements onto the black cardstock and embellish with a misted flower, some lace, butterfly punch-outs and pearls.

You can either leave this as a layout or cut it down and put it into a shadow box / frame!  (I think I might do just that!)

Hope you enjoyed this month’s tutorial and do try it out yea?  Till my next post, have a fantabulous rest of NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING MONTH!!!

xoxo,
Jasmine
