Fusing fabric flowers…
Happy National (Internationl) Scrapbook Day!!!!
So it has been a while since I have been able to post a tutorial on our site and I am so ready to share!!!
This fun project just goes to show that you don’t need to pay a lot for something cute! This is a denim bag that I bought at a second hand store for $1.99. I thought it would be a cute base for a fun bag to carry my groceries in. In this tutorial I share with you how to fuse our brand new Heidi Swapp Crepe Paper to chiffon with Glimmer Glam. This offers the beautiful imagery of the crepe paper yet the support and durability of the fabric. You will probably not want to wash this in the washer but if you put a large enough coating on it, this will allow you to spot wash it with a lightly damp cloth. you can also adhere this cluster of flowers to a pin and take it off before washing.
FUSED FABRIC FLOWERS WITH GLIMMER GLAM

Up close pic of the beautiful crepe paper fused to the fabric.
The how to’s
start by laying your crepe paper on top of a strip of chiffon that is a little larger than your crepe paper.
Now layer on your Glimmer Glam (now I know you don’t have any yet… but believe me it will be out very soon!!!!) I used Tidepool for this. I first added the glam underneath the crepe paper
and then I sealed it the top of the crepe paper with the Glimmer Glam (this allows the back to fuse with the fabric and the front to have a semi-gloss finish.
You will want to let this air dry or lightly heat it with a heat tool. Make sure you continue to stretch your crepe paper out so it remains straight. In this pic I am pulling the end to stretch it out lengthwise. Make sure not to concentrate to much of your heat tool on the piece and also once it begins to dry, you can pick it up and dry the back lightly too.
After this dried, I just did a basic hand basting stitch and gathered the flower into a pinwheel. Here are the finished pin wheels.
And here is a close up of the pinwheels and blooms all together!
Here are the center of the flowers, beautiful blooms by Prima Marketing Inc which reminds me, Sharon Laakkonnen with Prima will be sharing some fun Glimmer Misting techniques with Prima’s alphabets today on their Ustream channel, definitely check it out
they have it recorded for you.
So you can see… just what versatility you can get not only from our new crepe paper but also from our Glimmer Glam… I don’t mean to tease… just want to get you all good and ready with a plethora of tutorials so that when it is in your hands, you have all the info you will need to rock your projects!!!
Thanks for peeking today and enjoy your NSD!
