Here is the first one:  “The Thank you breeze”. Dragonfly and Pop rocks Glimmer mist applied with a pintbrush. Yes, no misting here but an unusual  application to make the embossing come out even more. With a paint brush you can really play on the different parts of the tag and intensify some areas more than other.

The second tag is “Light green thoughts”.  Gold and Olive vine Glimmer mists are making a perfect background for a glittered butterfly. Also here the Glimer mist was applied with a paintbrush and the Olive vine was also used to gave more shine to the flower.

And here is the third tag – “Foggy wish”. The color combo that was present in the first tag is repeted also on this one but you can see how different is the result when Glimmer mist is applied on a smooth fabbric that soaks the color and leaves the glimmer on the surface…. In RL this tag shines  like a star!

Today I want to share with you these art journal pages.

To create the background I first covered the pages with Gesso and then sprayed with Key Lime Pie and Aquamarine. The Gesso gives the colors a lighter and softer look than that they actually are.

Then I took a strip of cardstock, punched out some circles next to each other and laid it on top of the pages. I then sprayed with Red-Nosed Reindeer to create the flower centers.

After that I turned my journal upside down and let some Meadow Green glimmer mist drip from the bottom up. Then I took a black pen and drew in all the details, added pieces of book paper, colored in the petals with a white pen, used some punchanella and distress ink to add some texture to the background.

After I finished all this I thought there was something missing in the upper background and I added the sticker letters. Because they where white I had to cover everything else up and spray the top part again to make the letters fade into the background. Next time I should do that first, makes it much easier. Finally I splashed some indian ink on and colored the edges of the pages with black Stazon.

The next I want to show you are 2 tags I made a while ago. Again the background was covered with Gesso, only this time I did not spray the chalkboard and mist. I took of the lid off, dripped some Firefly chalkboard on my misting mat and put the tags on top with the right side down. Then I dripped some Wild Plum glimmer mist at the top of the left tag and let it run down, repeating the same procedure from the bottom up. To create the splashes I  just let the glimmer mist drip from the straw that is inside the bottle. The dots on the book paper where made with punchanella and Stazon ink.

For today, I would like to show you two of my last creation for a Summer workshop in France !

A mini book about Hawaï and a layout “How time flies”, I used the same technic for the cover and to build the background of my layout.

To make yourself your own background you only need :

-A template

-Gesso

-A card to apply gesso

-Your favorites Glimmer Mist ! I used 3 differents colors : Sunflower, Peach Delight, Oriental Poppy

Step 1- Begin to put your template on a soft cardstock, white or kraft is the best for me.

Step 2- Add some gesso with a plastic card

Step 3- Let it dry !

Step 4- Spray with one or more Glimmer Mist !

Step 4- Let it dry and complete your layout

The glimmer mist colours I used were Twinkle Yellow & Harvest Orange when I mist with screens I spray and then use a paper towel to soak up the excess so when I pull away my screen it leaves a neater edge

I also used Oil Slick glimmer glaze which I love to flick and pour on in places it looks so much like an old ink splotch.

Next up I created a Canvas using a 8×8 Medium Texture Canvas Corp canvas!!! I actually just took my spray lid off and painted my canvas with Mallard Glimmer Mist and Mint Chocolate Glimmer Chalk.

I also painted over the top of my glass bead clouds with the glimmer mist… unfortunately it doesnt show up very well on camera but they really do glimmer!

I also highlighted and put a few splotches of Timberline glimmer mist too!!! I just wish I could show you this in real life Lastly a top coat of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.

For April I would like to share with you 3 layouts I created using 3 very simple background effects featuring the awesome Tattered Angels mists and glaze.

With this first layout I have used a very simple but effective background technique to highlight my featured photo. I have begun with creating a splat of gesso and then allowed it to dribble down the page. I have then added another splat/pool of colour over this, just as you would use layers of patterned paper and card stock to created a colourful matt/background for my photo. Here I have the beautiful Fairway Chalkboard glimmer mist, and then added a few extra splats of colour with the Valencia, Chalkboard glimmer mist.

This particular layout I have used a favourite technique with Glimmer mist and misted water to create a splatty water mark effect; I have created a mini step-by-step using this technique creating a similar layout HERE  I have used one of my favourite glimmer mists; Black Magic. I have finished off the title alpha and chipboard hearts with a beautiful glimmer glaze, and added a few extra splats around them and my photo.

With this layout I have used one of the fabulous new CHA 2012 release Crafters Workshop templates, designed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. I used white gesso with the peacock feather template to create a background design. This was then ‘coloured’ using glaze on the feather ‘eye’ and then a covered with a combination of; Twinkle Yellow Glimmer mist, and Firefly ,  Fairway, and Calypso Chalkboard glimmer mists.

I created my background for this layout by first applying some gesso and when it was dry I used two different Glimmer Mists: Patina and Key Lime Pie, and one Chalkboard Glimmer Mist: Charcoal, on top of the gesso and the pink cardstock. The butterflies are painted with Glimmer Glam Pink Lipstick, the lace is coloured with Glimmer Mist Patina and I also splattered some Glimmer Glam Mermaid over the background. The thickers were misted with Glimmer Mist Cherry Blossom.

For my second layout I used a stencil from Crafter’s Workshop together with gesso and I then painted my entire background with Glimmer Glam Espresso Bean.

I used Glimmer Mist Olive Vine on the Doily, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Banana Pudding on the lace and Glimmer Glaze Orange Crush on the wooden bird.

I really love the look of the background, entirely covered in Glam!

The Olive Vine mist is so beautiful, with the green and gold together.

Finally, I created these two tags. I wrote “tack” on them, which means “thank you”. I think they might serve as teachers gifts at the end of the term and since I’m normally always doing those things last minute, I am quite pleased with myself having about a month and a half to find some gifts to go with them…

I started out with collaging some old book pages to my tags. I then added gesso and created some texture, before painting with acrylic paint. I then stamped the butterflies using stamps from Purple Onion Designs and covered the tags with Glimmer Glam Organic Garden. I added more pattern on top of the dry glam, using gesso and a home made stencil. When the gesso was dry I misted the tags with Glimmer Mist Key Lime Pie and Glimmer Mist Lemon Zest.

The flowers were misted with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Strawbery Shortcake, Glimmer Mist Cherry Blossom and Glimmer Mist Patina.

I painted the clear buttons with Glimmer Glam Chandelier.

The ribbons were misted too, using the same mists as above.

The first one is an Altered project.This is a CD box.

Originally it is a brown box. I painted this box with white Gesso and painted with modeling paste on chipboard. After dry it, I misted with 6 colors as below.

Hello from cold and rainy North Carolina. Today is my day to share with you and I have 3 very different projects.

Another canvas board project is a reminder of  “where”  I ‘ve lived and how it has helped to create who I am. I utilized old maps, Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist in Patina, Canvas Corp twine and a 7Gypsies hanging charm. I love the simplicity of this canvas.

I need some sunshine and flowers but without these April showers we may not see the flowers. So to help along Spring I would like to share with you my 2nd canvas in my Seasons series.    The background was created with several colors from the Plain Jane collection. I used the Balzer Designs Mini Rain stencil and Golden Glass Beads Medium to create the rain…once dry several coats of Tattered Angels Blue Skies were misted over the stenciled area . Once dry I splatted Ocean Spray Glimmer Glam on the canvas and the alphabet also. Tiny clear dewdrops were applied with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Glue. Of course a Spring canvas would not be complete with a garden  of flowers in a myriad of colors. I love using the Prima flowers that come without color so I can mix and match any Glimmer Mist colors I want.
