CHA recap

logo sign

Phew! Back from CHA, and what a busy time it was for us! The booth was busy non-stop, we had two demo stations (thanks to our FANTASTIC Educators!), and some great CHA classes where everyone learned the basics and the advanced techniques of Glimmer Mist. Here are some images from the booth:

Lots of demos!

Funky Frosty Glimmer Glass Album

One of my friends just had her winter birthday. I know her taste is sometimes funky and I also know that she being a Mom to a little one year old boy and is working so she has not much time to do something for herself. So I had the idea of giving her a small funky journal in which she could write her thoughts and so spent some “me”-time. The Frosty Memories Window Album was just perfect to work with!

Circe_01

Circe_02I used the Rose Moka Grunge Papers which are a perfect fit for the Glimmer Mists and Tattered Angels Stamps. On the left side I attached the paper and sprayed and stamped and the right side I usually used the Journaling stamp from the Notes from the Garden Stampset.

And as an extra I created a gift tag

Flower Journal

Mandy in Australia popping in to say how much I love the new Spring and Summer collections, Spring  Rain,  Lemongrass, Cosmos. Sweet Clover, Hula Hoop,  Flower Power, Delphinium, Tutti Fruiti.  Sunshine Waterslide and my personal favourite BUBBLES.

Is it spring at your place yet?  The new colour range just shouts for joy of the seasons and inspired me to want to create a garden themed journal about special friends.  The Frosty Memories album is a great base for flower books, simply popped out the snowflake chip to use on a future project and then went a little wild with colour.

One of the best things I enjoy about Glimmer Mists is that it allows a lot of random pieces to blend together with a colour mist theme. That means we can pick up bargain bin pieces in whites or cream and with the helping tint of glimmer mist everything matches. These flowers were dressed in the fresh flavour of Tutti Fruiti.IMG_5292

A bit of texture paste was blended across the cover to make the journal just a little more earthy, with base coats of Waterslide, accented with Caribbean Blue and then maxed out the glimmer stakes with BUBBLES. Seriously, I can’t believe the fun finish you get with Bubbles.

Mandy Collins glimmer mist mini book

Dawn’s post about creating a tattoo effect was good fun. When everything is dry, I use the stencils again to outline and accent parts of the design.  Of course everyone enjoyed Heidi’s video clips showing how easy it is to pop the combs open to release pages and covers for much more glimmering action and while you have the pages out, why not add a few more in as we did here with one of the bingo cards dressed in the new Timeless Romance stencil.

Little creatures are often a guest in our garden including the geckos.  With all the new die cutting machines, the options are endless in silhouette shapes we can cut out for cards.  Have you found a use for all those blotter paper towels yet?  While misting up this card I realised, the texture was just perfect for inserting into negative spaces or backgrounds. I do like a bit of recycling and this card includes, paper towel, old tags, wire and postage stamps to suit the theme of Australia Day.

A Traveler Through Time

Hi Jamie here :) I was lucky enough to get to design with the Tattered Traveler Album. I decided to dive into some older photos of my sisters and I .  I love the round shape of the album. It gives you so much room to design on. I first chose the colors and paper I was going to use. Then went from there.

I chose not to use the Clear overlay this time. But now I can use it on another project. On the cover I used Sunflower, Meadow Green, Lemon Zest, and Iridescent Gold.  I took one of the Garden Blossom stencil as a stamp with green meadow.  I colored the Prima white roses with Starfish.  The bow I washed with Vintage Pink to give it a pink hue.  The Letters of the title are from the butterfly font chipboard, sprayed with Starfish and covered with rock candy stickles.

Jan10

On these next pages I used Star fish and Meadow Green. I used a journaling card from the family set. Sprayed with Candlelight.  I hand painted the bingo card with turquoise blue, candlelight, sunflower, suede, and Meadow Green.

Jan2

Jan3

I colored the lace to match the page. I used Dreamsicle and Red Velvet. Then made them into flowers. The background is Sunflower and Vintage Pink. I used another of the Garden Blossom masks. The little owl is from the Nature embossed series.

Jan4

Oh the laughs of this picture LOL. Anyways…. I sprayed the background with candlelight and Meadow Green. I then used one of the masks as a stamp.  Also one of the butterfly font frames as a picture corner.

Jan5

Last but not least. I used Dreamsicle  and Red Velvet. Using the Garden Blossom mask as a mask and stamp.  The butterflies Are from the Nature embossed collection.  Hand painted.  I painted the journal card with the glimmer mist as well.

Jan6 All of the PP used on this book were Sassafras Lass. The Flowers are Prima.

I had so much fun looking through old photos and creating a wonderful keepsake.   Thank You for checking out the Tattered Angels Blog. Have a wonderful weekend. And those of you traveling to CHA have a safe trip and hope to see you there. Don’t forget to check out Tattered Angels new products.

Jamie :D

Somebody pinch me!!!!

Because I think that I am dreaming as I work with the new Tattered Angels product.  Seriously!  I am actually posting this a little late in the day because I received a box of some new things and there were the lovliest creamy colored chipboard pieces in it so I just had to add them to my album.
1

I used the Garden Journal Album and do you see that pretty little rose on the front cover?  Well, that is one of the new chipboard pieces.  They have embossed areas on them that resist the Glimmer Mist, unless you pile it on like I tend to do and quick heat set it with a heat gun.  I am in love……
2 The tree on the other side of the front cover is a raised image on the album.  I just swiped over it lightly with a couple of inkpads then with an embossing inkpad and added a clear embossing powder.
3All of the pages of my album include the use of Glimmer Screens and Screen Prints Stamps.  I also added rub ons to each of the stamped images.  The rub ons work great with the Tattered Angels designs and if you apply white rub ons before you spray on your Glimmer Mists they add a cool effect just like an embossing would.  They actually resist the mist also, but take on a bit of the glimmer and sparkle that the mists create.

This album is a reminder of all of the spring rituals that we follow each year when the weather finally gets warm after winter.
9

See that bird?  That’s another one of those awesome chipboard pieces.  Another thing that you’ll notice about my album is that I misted patterned papers.  Don’t be afraid to incorporate the pattern into the design of your page like I did with the berry sprigs on this paper.

12

The Glimmer Mist colors that I used in this album were; Lemon Zest, Coral Reef, Tuttie Frutti, Sunshine, Hula Hoop, and Electric Blue.
13

I also used brown acrylic paint mixed with a little glaze to stamp my images on some of the pages.  Then I immediately sprinkles on some fine clear glitter.  It adds sparkle to the stamped images and makes them stand out.
14

The heart is another one of those yummy new creamy embossed chipboard pieces.  Don’t you want some?

Okay, I don’t even know at this point if I shared all of my images, but I’m sure that you’ve seen enough to want some of the new Glimmer Mist colors and products.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ch-ch-cha!

Who’s going to CHA?  Anyone?  Sadly, I’m going to miss it this year (both this winter AND summer….pffft.).  It will be the first CHA in almost 5years that I’ve missed and it WILL be missed.  The upside is that the reason is a great one which I’ll share more of as time goes by.

So, if you are one of the lucky ones to head to Anaheim, be SURE to stop by the Tattered Angles booth (it’s going to be a big ‘un this time – 20×30) that is going to be just overflowing with all kinds of new product and inspirational projects.  I”m thinking there will be some fabulous make-and-takes running the entire show, too, so don’t miss those if you’re wandering the floor.  Nothing like getting your hands (and shirt and shoes) dirty with a little mmmm Glimmer Mist!

It’s album month, and I put together this little travel album for some of our Christmastime travels.  Who says Christmas photos should only be done in reds and greens?  I’m not a huge album person (it takes me AGES to get one done) but with Glimmer Mist, I can just spray and keep right on spraying until things get to a happy place – usually VERY quickly!

Before I show off my little album, I have to give the credits (some sneek peeks of what’s coming at CHA!)…  The credits include the following products:  Glimmer Glass Window Album – Nature, Glimmer Screens – Tattered Traveler, Bingo Boards & Calling Cards – Family, Glimmer Glass – Travel & Beach (NEW), Travel Alphas with Stamp Frames (NEW) and Glimmer Mist in Caribbean Blue, Coral Reef, Popsicle, and Hula Hoop (NEW).

Sneak Peek-look closely…

IMG_3915It is definitely Time for Love with this lovely Timeless Romance Calling Card! Especially when it’s painted with Heidi’s new color Viva Pink! But, look closely at the center of the heart….

IMG_3917

See the little shaker cup? Those are our new Clear Compacts! These are SO MUCH FUN! These 2 inch cups are perfectly sized to fit into the Framed Fonts Pocket Watch Frames (imagine those possibilities!!!).  But, what’s even more exciting, is they have their own snap in back cover! So, simply fill with confetti (as seen here), or candy, or buttons, or… and then put the lid on! Nice snug fit, and you don’t have to destroy the project to get to the goodies! Oh, and did I mention they’re embossed???? Yep, with a pretty little flourish detail. Wow.

Still more Sneak Peeks to come!

Fun new Tattered Angels goodness to play with!

Hey everyone!  It’s Vicki here.  Wow.. what an exciting time for Tattered Angels huh?  So many amazing new products being released.. and CHA just around the corner!   I have been having fun just playing and learning more about what all the new products can do.  I’m thrilled to have these fun new mediums to work hand and hand with Glimmer Mist.  I can see that the possibilities are going to be endless.  So many different ways to use these!   There are all kinds of new products… new chips, glass, screens, stamps, ect… and they are all amazing..but GLIMMER GLAZE and GLIMMER GLAM… are something totally new and different.   Using it with those new products ( and the current ones).. has been so exciting!

I thought I’d share some of my project swith you. This first album was something I created at the begining of the month.. before I had Glaze or Glam…. but I went back and added some Glaze to the edges after my project was finised.  Loved the effect!

our home album cover

I used the Garden Journal Album for this project.  ( I moved the gate from the front to one of the pages on the inside of the album)

Our home album 1 close sized

I used a little bit of a number of different Tattered Angels goodies  in this album… I just enjoyed the process! lol

Our family album 12 sized

I love the fact that when using the screens and Glimmer Mist, you can get a very subtle , OR  a very dramatic look from them, depending on how you use them.

Our family album 11 sized

Have I mentioned that “Olive Vine” is one of my very favorite colors. ( I used it ALOT!)Our family album 4 close sized

For my next project, I worked on a layout.  A very “textured” layout.  Well, that was what I was going for , anyway.  I’ve had this photo from out at our cabin, and have been wanting to do something with it to frame out there, and hang.  What a perfect time to try out the new mediums.   I got started with the “Copper Kettle” Glimmer Glaze.. and just could not stop!  I love it!

Relax

I used it in a couple of different ways.  I brushed in on, around the edges of the paper layers….

relax technique

and then I just “splattered” it here and there.   What a fun effect!

 Relax word

On the little photo holder below I used Electric Blue and Sweet Clover ( new Glimmer Mist colors) with on of the screens from the Iron Works set to make my background design.

I think used the new BEACH Glimmer Glass as embellishments.  I brushed some Tide Pool Glimer Glam behind the umbrella and some Mellow Yellow Glimmer Glaze behind the sun.

It’s hard to see here..but I put the sand pail and unbrella on with foam squares  to let them stand off the page a bit.

Griffin beach

One more project.  A card.  This one using the new “Travel”  Glimmer Glass

Balloon card close

I used Irridecent gold over all on this , with …Mellow Yellow Glimmer Glaze and Copper Kettle Glimmer Glam.

Balloon card

Thanks for letting me share my projects!  Hope you have a chance to play with the new products soon also!!

Very fun!

more sneak peeks….from the seaside

Seaside Collection that is!

IMG_3920

Here’s a card that uses our Coastal Breeze stamp set. We’ve affectionately named this flashy fish “Lola.” Ivory cardstock was sprayed with a bit of Riptide and Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist, then stamped with Lola. I then coated the image with All That Jazz Glimmer Glaze, and trimmed it out. Behind the vellum you can also see a piece of seaweed Glimmer Glass from the Seaside Collection Sea Glass. And, Lola comes in Glass too!

FYI, Glimmer Mist works great on vellum! This vellum actually started out as a very baby blue color-not quite “oceany.” So, I sprayed  some Riptide on my Misting Mat, then with a foam brush, painted the vellum. Dries quickly, and is exactly the color I wanted!

Keep checking in for more Sneak Peeks! And, be sure to check out Heidi’s blog for some peeks into her new product line. Just amazing!!!
