Projects from the road!

I just wanted to share this wonderful idea that we saw at Archivers while we were in Georgia. Traci from the  Buford, Georgia Archivers created this beautiful card for a make and take that they did in their store. She misted white flowers to match her project. This pull out card is just wonderful!

Traci found the template for this card on this site here.

Thank you Traci for sharing your wonderful inspiration with us!

cool technique using Sakura Clear Glaze Pen and GLIMMER MIST!

I have long had an obsession with my Sakura Glaze pens. I love the way they make any art work look like leaded glass or even acetate look like stained glass. My clear glaze pen gets it’s work out for sure, because the consistency of the glaze pen (after it dries) is slick and non porous, it just makes sense to use it with Glimmer Mist as a resist agent.

I started first by using my clear Sakura Glaze pen to create stars on my page. I used a thicker application to insure that I would have a bold outcome of stars. After it dries, it will create a barrier that will protect the background paper from any Glimmer Mist that I will spray over it. I then sprayed it with English Ivy, Jazz Blue, and a bit of Cranberry Zing Glimmer Mist.

I then rubbed the excess Glimmer Mist off of the areas that I used the Sakura Glaze Pen to reveal the areas in where the Glaze Pen resisted the Glimmer Mist.

You can see here the transfer of the resisted Glimmer Mist onto my paper towel.

This would be a great way to add a creative  journal to a page or even some fun accents. I have also added some Sakura Star dust pens (these work great on our Glimmer Chips too!) to the final project just to add a little Glimmery detail to the stars.

I hope this finds you well and gets your creative wheels turning!

More Summer Fun

Earlier in the week I posted a couple of cards using lots of glitter. Today, I have one more project for you. I’ve been scrapping lots of summer pictures. The beach themed bingo cards were perfect to add to this page. I used lots of Glimmer Chips from the Regal collection as well.

beach-time3

On the large frame I used Frozen Lake Glimmer Mist and on the smaller one and the beach chekclist card I used Lime Twist. I sprayed the Bingo card with Sherbet.

beach-time2

I added gold glitter to the fleur de lis and the letters.

Finally, I layered everything together to create this beach themed page.

CHA set up, on VIDEO!

Goodbye Summer…

beach-layout-merged-copy-286x300Well, the end of summer is all but here.  The kids are going back to school and hopefully the weather will get cooler soon.  Now is the time to scrap those summer memories.  One of the things I  love the most about Tattered Angels products is their versatility.

beach-layout-002-218x300 For this layout I used the large swirl chipboard image from the Regal glimmer chips to give the feel of a wave on mypage.  To make the look of seaspray on the swirl, and sand around the photo I layed a layer of salt on a piece of cardstock and sprayed over it with glimmer mist(for seaspray I used seaglass glimmer mist and the sand I used sand glimmer mist) then I dried it with my heat gun and rubbed it off of the cardstock.  I applied glue to the swirl and around the picture and sprinkled the colored salt over the glue.

beach-layout-001-218x300

For the “patterned paper” I tore strips of white tissue paper and sprayed them with Seaspray, Blue Skies, and Seaglass glimmer mist.  I dried them with my heat gun and glued the strips to a piece of white cardstock overlapping the strips in places and adding plain white strips to create the look of waves.  While the glue is wet I smooshed the tissue paper up to create texture and dimension.  I used a piece of 12×12 corrugated cardboard for the background.  I sprayed it with sand glimmer mist after tearing the top layer off.  After the glimmer mist was dry, I used white acrylic paint and brushed it over the corrugated cardboard.  I sprayed some white flowers with perfect peach glimmer mist and glued real shells into the center.  I also used the day at the beach calling card from the beach bingo cards set.  For the “sand” at the bottom of the page I simply sprayed sand glimmer mist onto white cardstock and tore the edges.

I also created a mini book using the new Regal Embossed Chip Tiles.  I adore these new chip tiles.  They are so easy to work with, and you can create a fabulous project in no time with these.  For the “pages” of the book I simply sprayed them with glimmer mist, in some cases using glimmer screens, dried them, and rubbed a gold ink pad over the embossed areas.  Then I inked the edges with gold ink and sprinkled gold tinsel embossing powder over the ink and heated.renaissance-fair-book-001-447x640

For the front and back cover I used Pashmina and Frozen Lake glimmer mist

renaissance-fair-book-002-640x593

I used patterned paper from Die Cuts with a view for the left page and throughout the book, and Sunflower, Walnut Gold Glimmer mist for the page at right.  I used walnut ink over the embossed areas of this page.

renaissance-fair-book-003-640x578-300x271

For these pages I used Sapphire glimmer mist on both pages, and Gold glimmer mist for the mat for the picture.

renaissance-fair-book-004-640x600-300x281

On these pages I used patterned paper on the left, and Haunted Shadow and Scarlet glimmer mist on the right.  On the embossed chipboard pieces I sprayed them with Gold glimmer mist, inked with walnut ink and sprinkled gold tinsel embossing powder over them and heated.  I love how there is a glimmer mist color to go with every color of patterned paper!

renaissance-fair-book-005-640x585-300x274

For this page I used patterned paper on left, and Dewberry, Olive Vine glimmer mist on the right.

renaissance-fair-book-006-640x582-300x273

For these pages I sprayed both pages with gold glimmer mist. Then I layed my screens down and sprayed over them with Arctic Blue, and Pashmina glimmer mist on the left page, and pashmina and Sapphire glimmer mist on the right.

renaissance-fair-book-007-511x640-240x300

For the back cover I used Pashmina and Frozen Lake glimmer mist.  Love those hinges on the glimmer tile.

And one final project for you…  My daughter got this shirt for back to school and asked me to create a pair of earrings for her to go with it.  The perfect choice, the fleur de lis glimmer chips!  I used Cranberry Zing glimmer mist to color them, then I punched small holes into the chipboard and added beads, and posts.  Then I adhered tiny rhinestones to the earrings.  A perfect match!

Hope you enjoy, happy glimmering!

Glitter and Glitz

One of the things I most love doing with Glimmer Chips is adding glitter to them, so I decided to pull out the glitter for some projects this month.

This first card uses a frame from the Embossed Regal collection. I simply peeled the back off and added the glitter directly to the adhesive! It works wonderfully. ;)

fashionistacl

I spritzed the patterned paper with Gold Glimmer Mist before I added the frame to the card. It’s a bit hard to see in the picture, but the whole card has a wonderful sheen to it!

fahinista1

On this next card, I used a different technique. I sprayed the Creme de Rouge chip with spray adhesive. Then I added clear glitter  and spritzed it with Sunflower Glimmer Mist. Once dried, I inked the edges for some dimension.

thinkingcl

I like how the color of the chipboard is changed, but you can still see the pattern beneath the glitter.

I used a Glimmer Screen and laid it onto some patterned paper. Then, I sprayed it with English Ivy Glimmer Mist.

So, the next time you go to pull out your Glimmer Chips, grab some glitter, too. I’m sure you’ll love the results.

Thanks for stopping by! ~ Anabelle

Loving the summer releases!

All of the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists are pretty spectacular but can I tell you how I excited I was when I opened by box of design goodies prior to CHA to find black (”Cinder”) and white (”Marshmallow”) Glimmer Mists?! Oh yes… it is true… and they are aooooooooo FABULOUS to work with!!!!

img_0377

Using the new Chip TIles, I created this fun little notebook. The 4X7 tiles are perfect to alter using Glimmer Mist and whatever else suits your fancy.

img_0367

I have a sweet spot for the fleur de lis pattern in this Chip Tile so I decided to use it for my cover. After spraying with Creme de Rouge Glimmer Mist, I used a Gun Metal rub to enhance the intricate pattern.

img_0419As I mentioned, I LOVE the “Cinder” Glimmer Mist. When sprayed on the Glimmer Chips or Glimmer Alphas (as shown above), it is a TRUE black. Saturate the piece and let it soak in and the results are GREAT! I also added some Glossy Accents to the letters here to really make the letters pop. On the Fleur di Lis Glimmer Chip, I added the Cinder Glimmer Mist and then Crackle Accents. When it dries, it cracks… totally cool effect!

img_0403

On the back cover of the book, I used Cinder Glimmer Mist over the entire piece. I used a White Staz-On ink pad to highlight the embossed portions (beware… your Staz On pad MAY pick up the colour and Glimmer from the Cinder so do so ONLY at your own risk:). I also used the White Staz-On (minimal amount on the stamp)with the new Garden- Notes Stamps.

I cannot show you the inside pages as this will run as a class this fall but know they are just as fun as the covers!). I should also mention that the Bind-It-All pinched through the chip Tiles beautifully allowing yo a plethora of options for creating your own little book:)

img_0527

Now it is time to experiment with the Marshmallow (white) Glimmer Mist. This time I used a heavy weight piece of black chipboard that had been cut with a die cut machine for my background. First, I laid out my Garden`Note Glimmer Screen (this beauty is HUGE! It easily covered thebottom half of my project allowing for ease in the spritzing department).

img_0522

A light mist is all that was necessary to create this lovely design on the background.

img_0516

I used the co-ordinating stamps from the Garden-Notes Collection to stamp with white Staz-on in the opposite corner. Aside from inking the edges, I left the Bingo and Calling Cards in their natural state. The Glimmer Chips from the Regal Collection (shown in the above photo) were also only inked to highlight the raised portions. I then carefully traced the pattern with Glossy Accents and it turned out pretty cool!

img_0520On the fleurish, I sprayed with the Cinder Glimmer Mist, applied Glossy Accents and then randomly sprinkled some black glitter.

img_0518The Glimmer Alphas (shown in the above pic) were inked first and then had Glossy Accents and some glitter again for another look. I love the versatility of the Tattered Angels Embossed Chipboard Elements as their are so many options for customizing them to suit your needs!

img_4548The last little picture I will leave you with today is a sneak peek from a FUN class I am going to be teaching using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, Chips and Screens to complete this lovely canvas wall hanging! So many fun techniques will be covered in this class and others like it! Tattered Angels has designers and educators around the globe able to share classes with you. My projects shown here will be offered this fall and I would love to see you in my upcoming classes! For a list of dates and locations… see our Educator Calander on here:) Visit my blog for more info on my Tattered Angels Classes!

Happy Scrapping!

ChipTile fun

I am just LOVING these New Chip Tiles!  I couldn’t resist wanting to create an entire album with them.

So… I did. lol

china-town-cover2

I have had these photos from a trip to China Town in Vancouver, that I have been saving for a mini album just like this.   I worked on each of my tiles separately, let dry and then assembled my album, using a crop-o-dile to create the holes.  I didn’t really want to use binder rings on this project..so I just choose to use fibers.

china-town-pg-11

I did lots of embossing on this album.  I the look of the   Glimmer Mist colors with the gold embossing powder added over the edges.

china-town-journey-page

I also incooporated the screen and stamps… as they added so much to the background designs.  On the page below I used my black pen to outline around the outside edges of my screen design.

china-town-hat-page1

The Embossed Chips look so great when the ink pad it rubbed over them to pull out that gorgeous design even more.

china-town-tag-page-1

especially the black ink over the red misted piece below.

china-town-back-page

I can certainly see that the possiblities for these ChipTiles are endless…but I dont thing making them into a mini album is out of my system yet.. lol.. I already have plans for another spinning around in my head.

Pick a theme and run with it!
