Sue’s July Projects
Hi from Singapore! I’m back to share some of my latest Tattered Angels projects.
Here’s the first one:

I created my own background design for this layout by misting some white cardstock. I laid out two butterfly glimmer screens over the white cardstock, then picking up the colours from the patterned paper, I misted the cardstock in shades of brown, orange and pink. The mists I used were Tattered Leather, Tutti Frutti, Peach Delight and Flower Power.
Here’s what the misted cardstock looked like:

And the completed layout:

As always, lots of inking, distressing, handcut details and layers on my layout.
And my favourite turn-to Tattered Angels embellishment – a chipboard butterfly from the Framed Font collection. lightly misted in Tattered Rose and inked in orange.

Next up, a layout using lots of Tattered Angels embellishments.

I used the Va Va Victorian Irresistable Chips on the layout. I really like that they’re resist-embossed so all you need to do is to mist directly onto the chip and the embossed areas will resist the mist, creating perfectly misted details every time.
Here’s a close-up:

I misted the Victorian chip rose with Apple Candy Red and the leaves with my favourite Olive Vine. I laid the the chip over Regal Glimmer Glass in cocoa. The alpha chipboards are from the Regal Framed Font collection. I liked how the original cream of the alpha chips looked against my layout and decided to keep the shade, but added some glimmer by misting it with Dazzling Diamonds.
I used more Victorian chip leaves and Glimmer Glass here. I like how the chip leaves work so well with the Prima flowers.

I layered lots of lace, trims and Websters Pages bloomers on this layout, which has portions of the cut out patterned paper raised up for a 3D finish. Some pearl flourishes complete the layout.

Finally, I have a card for you:

A romantic pastel card using stamps from the Timeless Romance collection, and a Regal Framed Font chip which I misted in Tattered Rose to complement the patterned paper.
I hope you liked my projects this month. I know I had lots of fun creating them. Check back here for more inspiration from the rest of the Tattered Angels Design Team all July.
Happy Scrapping!

Tattered Angels and Pink Paislee
Hi there! This month, the Tattered Angels DT got to play with some gorgeous products from Pink Paislee.
My first layout uses my favourite collection from Pink Paislee – the Queen Bee collection.

I misted Lemon Grass over white cardstock, using a Garden Blossom glimmer screen. The stamped border is from the new Rockin’ Renaissance stamps. To add splashes of colour, I flicked glimmer mist in Sunshine and Black Magic over the Lemongrass mist.
Some close-ups:

The title work using Framed Font chipboard alphas which I painted glimmer mist on.

There’s hidden journalling on the Tattered Angels journalling card tucked behind the photo.

Lots of detailed hand-cutting, Prima lace and flowers complete the layout.
My next layout, All Aboard, uses some bright and cheery papers from the 365 Degrees collection.

I splashed glimmer mist in Lemon Zest, Turquoise Blue and Candy Apple Red onto the diecut paper, taking my cue from the yellows, blues and reds in the patterned paper.
Some close-ups:

Some glimmer glass from the Tattered Traveller and Seaside collections. I like that little postage stamp with the train image on it. Perfect for my train-themed layout.

The chipboard train is from the Tattered Traveller glimmer chip pack.
Finally, a display project using Pink Paislee’s Bayberry Cottage collection.

I misted a piece of corrugated cardboard in Lime Twist and a Family Bingo Board in shades of Caribbean Blue, Cranberry Zing and Marshmallow.
Some close-ups:

The key is from Tattered Angels’ Vintage Hardware.

And the keyhole fashioned from a Framed Font chipboard negative.

I like my layouts and projects to have lots of texture and dimension. Patterned paper, flowers and lace were layered over one another, propped up with dimensional foam dots to create height. I used plenty of lace and ribbons here, spritzing Old Lace glimmer mist on the lace which I thought was too white for the project.
So there you have my Tattered Angels projects for June. Check back all this month for more Tattered Angels and Pink Paislee inspiration from the design team.
Cheers!

Sue’s May Creations
Hi from Singapore! I had a fun time creating with my Tattered Angels goodies this month and I have three very different projects to show you.
First up, a layout that’s rather typical of my style. Pretty, a little shabby-chic, with lots of flowers, lace, mists and chips.

I misted Patina over a glimmer screen to create a pretty light turquoise background, which blended in perfectly with the Prima Pastiche papers.

I misted the Framed Chipboard Frame and the Framed Fonts in Old Lace then coated them with some fine glitter. I like that the pale brown mist shows up through the glitter. And always one of my favourite Tattered Angels products, a pretty butterfly glimmer glass resting atop the chipboard.

Next up, a canvas with lots of grungy details:

The canvas was misted with Olive Vine and one of my new favourites, Chocolate Covered Cherries.

I misted a shipping tag with Candlelight and Suede, then stamped and heat embossed an image from the new Rockin’ Renaissance clear stamp collection. I used a lot of chipboard on this canvas, which I coloured to my satisfaction using lots of glimmer mists. The pocketwatch chipboard was misted with Patina and Coffee Shop for an aged look, the key and wings with Olive Vine and the wrought iron with Tattered Leather.

That clear little postage stamp is a Tattered Angels glimmer glass from the Traveller collection. I applied some Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove on it and I have to say the glimmer on the glaze is fantastic. But as I was going for a grunge look, I took my sanding block to the glaze, creating a distressed look.
Finally, a layout using some really pretty and cute papers from My Little Shoebox, with whom we are having a blog relay this month.

The Beach collection of glimmer screens, glimmer glass and chips are just perfect for a beach or sea-themed layout, or in this instance, a Princess Ariel layout. The background was misted with a combination of Flower Power and Candlelight over a palm tree screen. I tore strips of blue My Little Shoebox patterned paper in irregular shapes to look like waves with little white crests and tucked in the little fish glimmer glass.

The crab and seashell chips are just so cute I had to mist them in cheery shades of Sunflower, Candlelight, Coral Reef, Peach Delight and Caribbean Blue.
Thank you all for coming by the Tattered Angels blog and have a great scrappy week ahead.

Tattered Angels and Prima
Hi! This is Susan and I’m so excited about April. All this month, Tattered Angels and Prima will be having a blog relay, and I’m loving it because Prima is one of my all-time favourite manufacturers. Here are some projects I’ve created featuring both Tattered Angels and Prima.
First up, a layout using Prima’s new Raspberry Tea and Strawberry kisses papers. I spritzed glimmer mist directly onto the Raspberry Lemonade paper using a butterfly glimmer screen. I used a combination of Rose Tea and Tutti Frutti, then splashed on some Lime Twist and Tutti Frutti mist.

I hand cut the beautiful floral details from the Raspberry Tea Icy Sweet paper and embellished using lots of product from Tattered Angels: A brown glimmer glass from the Regal collection, black and clear glimmer glass from the Beach collection, stamps from the Traveller and Vintage Valentine collections and a butterfly chipboard from Framed Fonts. And as a final touch, a cluster of some of Prima’s new flowers in varying shades of soft pink.

Here’s another layout, this time using Prima’s new Pastiche papers. I didn’t use a glimmer screen this time. Instead, I misted Suede and Crushed Shell onto the Seaside paper to give it a more rustic feel.

I misted the chipboard alphas from the postage stamp framed fonts in a combination of Burnt Red and Red Velvet to give it a rich red, and combined that with some blue alphas from Prima to make up the title.

A chipboard coat of arms from Tattered Angels which I misted with Antique Brass for a subtle glimmer, surrounded by some Prima flowers and pearls. I custom coloured the white Prima flowers in Crushed Shell and Burnt Red to match my layout.

And finally, lots of distressing, tearing, inking and Prima lace complete this layout.

I had this plain canvas bag lying around which I thought I would alter using some mists and Prima flowers. So the plain canvas bag turned into this:

I misted the bag in Key Lime Pie, Black Cherry and Carribean Blue over a couple of flourish glimmer screens. I added a chipboard frame, lots of Prima flowers, leaves and lace, and it was transformed.
A close-up:

And finally, here’s a birthday card I made for a friend who loves Prima and Glimmer Mists.

Check back here all this month for more beautiful Tattered Angels and Prima inspiration from the Design Team, and hop over to the Prima blog for their take on the relay too.
Have a great weekend!

Love Is In The Air
Hello! This is Susan and I’m back to share with you some of my new creations. This month, the Tattered Angels DT are doing a blog relay with Fancy Pants Designs and I got to play with the beautiful Vintage Valentine collection.
The Fancy Pants papers called for some lovey cards and I made a couple.
On this first one, I misted the heart-shaped screen from the Timeless Romance collection with the new glimmer mists shades of Viva Pink and SWAK. I then stamped it with the beautifully intricate stamp from the same collection. Next, I carefully cut out the heart image and attached lace all around the border.

One of my favourite go-to products in Tattered Angels is the Framed Font chipboard frame. Here I misted it with Rose Tea and defined the edges with some ink. I then slipped in the sentiment for the card using one from the Fancy Pants patterned paper. The lace was misted with matching shades of pink to complement the card.

The second card I created is a Butterfly Valentine. I used the glimmer screen and stamp from the Graceful Journey collection, misting the butterfly with the intense reds from Red Valvet and Candy Apple Red glimmer mists.

I wanted to accent the butterfly with a doily flower and some pearls. The doily in its original white was a little too stark, so I spritzed on gentle shades of Patina and Vintage Rose, which added just a hint of turquoise and peachy-pink. A string of pearls, some delicate lace and a pale blue satin ribbon complete the card.

Next, I created this Trio of Tags: Dream, Love and Inspire.

The tags all started out as plain manila tags. I misted all of the them with Vintage Pink and Frost, over the Timeless Romance Glimmer Screen. I then stamped over them with the matching Timeless Romance stamp. The same screen and stamp was used on all three tags, but I used different parts of the stamp, stamping off the tags to give a different look to each. I misted the chipboard swirls and lace in different shades to match the tags and also liberally misted the flowers with Iridescent Gold for some shimmer.
Dream:
Love:
Inspire:
Finally, I created this next layout which I really like, using the le’ Romantique papers from Graphic 45.

I misted a combination of Tattered Leather, Coffee Shop and Suede directly onto the Graphic 45 patterned paper, then stamped over the masked image with the Compass stamp from Tattered Traveler. I love this stamp and screen combination.
Another one of my favourite new releases is this postage stamp Framed Font chipboard. Here I misted it lightly with Rose Tea and Iridescent Gold to give it a light hue and lots of glimmer to match the roses in the patterned paper.

Another new release from this CHA is this cute little postcard from the Tattered Traveler Glimmer Glass collection. This collection has some of the best looking travel-related images I’ve seen.

Thanks for coming by and have a lovely week ahead.

More Tattered Angels and Webster’s Pages Goodness
Hi Everyone! This is Susan and I’ve got quite a few Tattered Angels and Webster’s Pages projects to share with you today, using the new CHA releases of course!
First up, here’s a layout I created using the lovely new Timeless Romance collection and Webster’s Pages Sweet As Cherry Pie papers.

I misted directly onto the patterned paper, using the Timeless Romance heart glimmer screen with Rose Tea and Tutti Frutti. I then stamped the new postcard frame from the Timeless Romance clear stamps as a frame for my photo.

I’ve used the new Timeless Romance Calling Cards in the cluster to the right of the photo. I misted the entire card with Old Lace, then painted in the roses and leaves with Scarlet and Lime Twist.

The title alphas are from the new Postage Stamps Framed Fonts. I misted these with Iridiscent Gold to give them a glint of shimmer while retaining the original ivory shade, and outlined the alphas in Lime Twist.

Webster’s Pages papers are great for cutting out and here you can see the dimensionality I created with the lace and cut-outs.
Next up is this altered tag which I just completed yesterday and I love the shabby-chic feel of it. These Tailored Tags are new from Tattered Angels and their size is perfect for altering.

I misted the tag with Lemon Grass, Caribbean Blue, Burnt Red and Vintage Pink, then cut out the bird and leaves images from the very pretty Postcards from Paris paper.

I added a lace trim in ecru, a velvet green ribbon and a pleated brown satin ribbon to the tag, and set that off with a custom-coloured flower. I wanted the flower to match the tag perfectly, so I misted the originally-white flower in Moonlight.

To complete the tag, I added a Glimmer Glass dragonfly from the Nature collection as well as some lace trims and a pearl brad to the top of the tag.

I designed the tag with a pocket so you can slip in a little message or greeting into the pocket. Here, I’ve slipped in a Paper Tag from the new Rockin’ Renaissance collection.
The next few projects I created for CHA Winter. This next one is a shadow box I created using Webster’s Pages Postcards from Paris papers.

I misted the background cardstock in the new Hula Hoop and Water Slide shades, over a large grand-scale Glimmer Screen from the Garden Collection.

Here you can see the different layers I’ve created from the use of lace, cut-outs from the patterned paper and chipboard. The title “Winter Berry” sits on the new Postage Stamp Framed Font chipboard frame, which I misted with the new Dazzling Diamonds. I love this new mist. All the glimmer without the colour.
To complete the garden feel, I added in a glimmer glass bird and a glimmer glass flourish corner.

Here’s the project from another angle so you can see the shadow box effect.
A romantic card next, with flowers, sheer ribbons, lace and Magical Wishes paper from Webster’s Pages.

The lock and key are a Glimmer Chip and Glimmer Glass from the Regal collection. I misted the lock chip in Flower Power and Vintage Pink, allowing the raised embossed details to show through, which I then highlighted with some stickles.

I wanted the flower to stand out so opted to keep it in its original ivory shade, but liberally misted with Dazzling Diamonds and Iridescent Gold so the glimmer would catch the sunlight.
Finally, here’s an altered canvas I created using the new Seaside Collection and Graphic 45’s new On The Boardwalk papers.

Glimmer Mists work really well on canvas. I misted the canvas in Caribbean Blue and Sunshine over the new On The Beach Glimmer Screen.

And one of my favourite mists this season – Dazzling Diamonds on the Prima flower and Dazzling Diamonds and Bubbles on the Seaside glimmer chip shell.

I misted this chipboard heart with Candy Apple Red and crackle glazed it. The patterned paper’s from Graphic 45’s new On The Boardwalk collection. Love the vintage images.

This seahorse glimmer glass is part of the new Sea Glass collection. I also dabbed on some of the new Glimmer Glaze in Emerald Cove on the top left corner with a paint brush. I used the new Crushed Shells glimmer mist on the manila tag, misting over another new glimmer screen from the Under The Sea collection.

Jon the rest of the design team for all of February as we show you more of what we’ve created using the brand new Tattered Angels releases, as well as Webster’s Pages.
Have a great week!

Fun with the Garden Journal Album
Happy New Year everyone!
All this month, the designers will be showing off what you can create with the Tattered Angels albums. I got to play with the Garden Journal Album, which is so pretty with the embossed image of a tree on the cover and glimmer glass gate.
For the cover, I decided to create an image of a sunrise in the park, inspired by a photograph I saw of a sunrise.

I inked the tree in different shades of green, then misted the entire cover in shades of Sunflower and Peach Delight for the sunrise, and shades of Juneberry Wine and Fully Purple for the dawn sky. I love how the glimmer mists shimmer in the sunlight, giving off glints of gold wherever they catch the light.

This mini album is about our recent holiday to New York and the cover reminds me of Central Park, aptly.
The cover opens up to reveal a gatefold.

I carefully misted the butterfly screen onto the two gatefold pages, taking care so that when the two pages were closed, the butterfly image would line up perfectly. I used Cranberry Zing and English Ivy on these pages. My title sits on a Framed Font chipboard lightly inked in lilac and adorned with matching hyacinths.
If you open up the gatefolds, you will see that I continued the butterfly screen misting across the right and left pages too. Here you see what the right page looks like when it’s opened up:

And this is how the album looks with the gatefold open and the centre page showing through.

On this page, I misted the page with the same shades as the gatefold pages so that all three pages flowed right across. I continued the butterfly theme with punched out butterflies flitting across my mini layout, complemented by patterned paper in the same green and purple hues and a touch of pretty lace.
For the next page, I played with the compass glimmer screen and misted the page in Peach Delight and Pashmina, picking up the hues from the photograph of us in Times Square. And it being Times Square, I stamped an image of a clockface right onto the compass. The stamp and the glimmer screen lined up perfectly, as all coordinated glimmer screens and stamps will.

This next photo has a Christmas-sy feel about it so I selected glimmer mists in red (Peppermint Stick) and green (Forest Green) to give it that festive feel. I carelessly misted the red mist here, there and everywhere, then filled in the rest of the page with green. To add to the holiday cheer, I outlined the glimmer screen image with stickles in a cheery Christmas red. I kept the page simple, with just a little embellishment in the corner.

So those were some pages from my Garden Journal Album. I hope you liked the album because I had a lot of fun creating it.
Have a great week ahead!

Family Glimmer Chip Album
Hi there! This is Susan.
All this month, the designers will be showing off the wonderful My Tattered Angels Glimmer Kits. I got to play with the Family-themed Chip Tile kit, which is just perfect for me, as I’ve always wanted to make an album for our family photographs taken on our vacations through the years.
The kit comes with glimmer chips, glimmer glass, bingo boards, a glimmer screen, three mini bottles of glimmer mist in Sand, Patina and Scarlet, and all other accessories you would need to create an album, including tulle, ribbons, a copper key and lots more.
Here’s my album cover:

I misted Sand glimmer mist all over the cover chip tile, then highlighted the gorgeous embossed details with some ink. The album title was cut from a Bingo Board, then mounted on some corrugated cardboard which also came with the kit.

I made a flower embellishment using some music sheets I had at home, spraying it with Patina for a lovely blue hue. The leaves were handcut from the corrugated cardboard and sprayed lightly with Scarlet glimmer mist for some shimmer and colour.

To jazz up the album, I tied the chocolate tulle that came with the kit around one of the album rings, then attached the copper key to the tulle using the swirly ivory ribbon.
On to the inside pages.

I’ve left the pages on the right side of the album plain to allow me to add journalling later. One great thing about this album is because it is held together by rings, I can add pages to it in the future, by using the rest of the chip tiles and bingo boards from the kit.
As I was making the album, I decided I wanted to use the chip tiles differently. This time, I made a hanging decor.

I wanted to try a different method of misting the chip, so I experimented with a wax resist technique. First, I applied wax to the embossed images on the cream tile. Next, I sprayed Scarlet glimmer mist liberally all over the chip tile. Then I carefully wiped off the mist from the embossed images and voila! The images showed through clearly in cream.

Once the chip tile was dry, I added a bingo board and corrugated cardboard, both lightly misted in Sand, some tulle, ribbon, button, glimmer glass and a little lace misted in Sand. I punched two holes at the top of the chip tile, threaded some tulle through and my hanging photo decor was complete.
I have to say I really enjoyed making my glimmer chip album and decor. I have even more ideas brewing in my mind. These kits are addictive!
Have a great day!

Hello from Singapore!
Hi Everyone! This is Susan blogging from Singapore.
This month, the Tattered Angels DT is doing a blog relay with Graphic 45, which means we get to work with some gorgeous paper from Graphic 45, one of my favourite manufacturers.
I have four projects to show you today. First up is this hanging Christmas decor using Graphic 45’s Christmas Past collection and lots of glimmer mist:

For this project, I wanted to try glimmer mist on different materials, not just paper. I picked up this little twig wreath and started off by misting it with Iridescent Gold. That gave just the right amount of subtle gold shimmer on the twigs without taking away its natural woody feel. Next up, I misted the corrugated cardboard with a happy chocolatey mix of Latte, Suede and Vanilla Breeze. And since I’d already misted on wood and paper, why not some lace? Now this was fun. The pristine white lace soon turned a lovely vintagey warm red with my liberal squirts of Burnt Red and Red Velvet.

I fell in love with the butterfly clear stamp from Tattered Angels’ Screen Prints the moment I layed my eyes on it. Here, I stamped it on some Graphic 45 patterned paper with a clear embossing ink, then heat embossed it using some Christmassy-red embossing powder. I love the texture embossing gives to stamped images. I layered the butterfly, corrugated cardboard and lace together with the gorgeous Graphic 45 patterned papers and cute little cherubs, added in some Prima poinsettia and a Glimmer Chip and my Christmas decor was done.
Here’s my next project, a layout with a nature theme:

I chose the tree and shrub screens from the Garden Blossom selection of Glimmer Screens to match my photograph. I misted these onto a cream cardstock using a mix of Key Lime Pie, Forest Green, Meadow Green and English Ivy, letting the colours run from a lighter shade on the left to the darkest shade on the right. The rich green hue of the patterned papers from Graphic 45’s Renaissance Faire worked beautifully with the photograph and the green mists.

To complete the nature theme of this layout, I used a butterfly glimmer chip and coloured it up into a rich sunburnt golden hue using Candlelight, Burnt Red and Peach Delight. I like how the little bits of red and peach peek through behind one another.
Here’s another layout I’ve created with a nature theme:

For this layout, I misted directly onto Graphic 45’s Christmas Past paper. I wanted the effect to be subtle, so I chose a complementary Olive Green mist for the green Graphic 45 Christmas Past patterned paper. The effect was just as I wanted it. You can see the beautiful image of the flourish from the Glimmer Screens, outlined in a darker shade of olive and glistening in gold in the sunlight. To define the edges of the flourish, I outlined the flourish in Rangers stickles.

I like the look of mists on corrugated cardboard, and on this layout I used a mix of Peach Delight at the top, followed by Suede in the centre and ended off with Candy Apple Red at the bottom.
I have just one more project to show you today, an Owl card:

I was inspired to make this card when I saw this cute little Glimmer Chip owl from the Nature series. I misted the backing corrugated cardboard in Sunflower, Olive Vine and Golden Terracotta, and layered on some lovely patterned papers from Graphic 45’s Renaissance Faire collection. And because the owl couldn’t be left standing in mid-air, I hand cut a little branch for it out of corrugated cardboard and misted it in shades of Suede and Coffee Shop.
So there are my Tattered Angels and Graphic 45 projects this month. I just realized they all have a woodsy feel to them. To check out what the Graphic 45 Design Team has created with Tattered Angels products, hop on over to their blog: Graphic 45 Blog . And check back here for what the other Tattered Angels DTs have created with Graphic 45 papers throughout the month. Have a great day!
