Hello!
The entire Tattered Angels team gets to play with colours this month! A nice coincidence because that’s what I like in scrapbooking: playing with colours, mixing the shades! I particulalry like the contrasts offered by colours.
I wanted to do things the hard way so I started with a monochrome layout.
I selected a picture of my niece Noelie, isn’t she lovely? I created an entire pink background.
You here? Let’s go!
Start by choosing your ink sprays colours: For me it will be Glimmer Mist “Be Mine”, “Red-Nosed Reindeer”, Plain Jane “Rosey” and Glimmer Glam “Lady Bug”.
Grab a white cardstock and apply some gesso on it…with a pink old loyalty card, if you please!
Once the gesso is dry, spray inks then spray water to let the colours burst forth.
Either you wait for it tob e dry, or tilt your page to obtain some nice dripping effect.
As I want to focus on my background, all the elements will be regrouped around the picture to let the background show a maximum.
I slide a tag and a small envelop ( from 7Gypsies “Trousseau“ collection) under my picture. I added stickers, eyelets, a crochet flower, leaves and here we are!
My title is “Pretty in Pink”, pretty obvious!!!
As a finishing touch, I simply splashed my layout with pink Glimmer Glam.

For my second layout, I chose to stay in my comfort zone, which is colour mixing and contrast!
I chose opposite colours for a maximum of effects! Avoid using tone-on-tone colours and play with an outburst of colours!
The colours I choose are quite masculine: blue, yellow and red (so mainly primary colours).
I chose the following colours: Glimmer Mist “Sunflower” “Marmelade”, “Summer Glow” & Plain Jane “Dark Blue”.
I used the same technique as for the previous layout except that the colours are gathered on the upper part of my creation, and I played a lot with dripping inks.
Then I glued my picture, placed some stickers in a vertical manner, printed tape from 7Gypsies, little wooden stars and the title.
I stamped several patterns with black and red inks to give more depth to my layout.
I hope you’ll be inspired by these two realisations! Let’s meet again on the 27th September!
Have a nice day!
Karine
