Hello everyone! Anna from Sweden here today, with my first post for June. We had some gorgeous days in May, but the beginning of June has been all about rainy weather, I’m afraid. I’m looking at this photo from May 2nd, hoping for another picnic in our garden really soon!
To create this layout, I used the same stencil twice. First of all, I added some sheet music to my background and went over it with some gesso. When the gesso was dry I added my stencil for the first time, and misted over it. I used Glimmer Mist Apple and Golden Terracotta and Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Sprout and Firefly.
When the mist was dry I decided that I wanted some texture, and I put the stencil back in approximately the same position as before, and I added some gesso to the center of the stencil. I let the gesso dry and then I added another layer of mist, this time without the stencil. I used the same mists as before, and also some Glimmer Mist Key Lime Pie.
The doilies were sprayed with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Peacock and the blue buttons were first gessoed and then coloured with mist. I also used mist to colour my flowers.
Stencils are so much fun and they are available in so many fabulous designs right now! Have fun playing and thank you for stopping by today!
