Here’s Birgit from the sunny and warm Netherlands. Wow, summer has really started here and I LOVE it!
Today I want to share with you a layout with a spring feel. I took this picture of my daughter about 3 weeks ago on one of the rare nice days we had this spring. Really, until last week we have been wearing our winter coats, at least in the morning!
Anyway I wanted the bright and fresh green and yellow from the picture to continue on my page and I added some orange to give it a bit warmer and sunny feel.
To create this background I just randomly sprayed on my craft sheet using Chalkboard Firefly and Valencia and some Tuscan Sun and I put down my background paper with the right side down on the sprayed mists. Then I turned the paper around and let it dry. When it was dry I did the same with Meadow Green Glimmer Mist. Because I wanted only little bits of green I took the pump off the bottle and just dripped a little bit of green on my craft sheet instead of spraying it.
To get the little darker orange spots I took the pump off a bottle of Marmalade and tapped with my finger on the straw.
For the flower centers I used a circle stencil and randomly filled out some circles with distress ink using a piece of blending foam, then I stamped on top of the green circles with the stencil still in place and finally used a permanent black and white pen to draw and color the petals.
The red silk flower from Prima was lightly covered with gesso and then sprayed with Tuscan Sun. Drying it with a heat gun made the fabric melt and shrink to give it a worn look.
