Oh how I love fabric. Satins, silks, cottons, linens, felts, organza….~swoon~ There are just so many wonderful fabrics out there and they surround us all the time. From pillows to clothing, lampshades to accessories! Fabric is EVERYWHERE!!! So what better material to get some Tattered Angels love right?
Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here to share with you my March projects all created with fabrics. I’m so stinkin excited to share with you some amazing ways to use Tattered Angels products to really personalize your home and wardrobe. So off we go to my own technicolor adventure with fabrics. Hold on tight, and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll be sure to help you out with any of your fabric/Tattered Angels projects and questions…
Next an alteration of a lampshade I found for 2 dollars at a thrift store. For this project I really wanted to graduate the colors and I selected Lavender Fields and Rum Punch Glimmer Mists as well as Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Glimmer Mist. I started with the Lavender Fields, then Polka Dot Pink and finally Rum Punch on the very top. The flowers are all painted with these colors too.
Next onto a really fun technique that works FANTASTICALLY with Tattered Angels Paints. Have you ever tie-dyed? I just had to see if it would work with Glimmer Mist, so I poured my bottle of Marmalade Glimmer Mist into a small plastic tub and went crazy!!! This project is not completed yet, but I couldn’t keep it from you. How stinkin cool is this!!!
I just couldn’t stop myself at 3 projects, so I grabbed a clutch purse that I had and got out the Chalkboard Glimmer Mists, some vintage jewelry, tulle and a few flowers. For the colors I used Alaskan Salmon, Apricot Nectar, Inchworm and Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Glimmer Mists. I first free hand sprayed the entire clutch and once it was completely dry I resprayed it and went over it with a stipple brush to softly blend the colors. Tres Chic!!!
Now how much fun was that??? I so loved working with fabrics this month and I hope that I’ve given you a few ideas to get your Tattered Angels Muse revving into high gear. There is nothing more fun, than to try new techniques and colors together, so take a few pieces around the house that need a little lift and start painting with your Tattered Angels stash.
Until Next time
